Daniel Barter missing from Perdido Bay Alabama since 1959 #coldcase
Daniel was last seen playing near the banks of Perdido Bay, Alabama between 9:30 and 10:00 am on June 18, 1959. He was camping there with family. Daniel apparently wandered away while his parents were preparing some fishing equipment. Authorities thought Daniel may have been attacked by an animal. They even killed and gutted two alligators to look for human remains, but found no evidence of such. An extensive search of the region turned up no sign of Daniel. After the search, authorities thought Daniel may have been abducted from the area, but they never found any evidence supporting this theory either. There was some evidence that a man had been stalking Daniel and/or his siblings prior to his abduction. Daniel's family believes this person may be responsible for his disappearance. Daniel's case was reopened in 2008, nearly 50 years after he disappeared. Unfortunately, many of the original files were lost or destroyed. Daniel's siblings still hope he can be located.
