Lauryn Dickens' mother pled guilty to her murder, but her remains have never been found. She was last seen in Memphis, TN in 2010.
Lauryn Dickens was last seen in Memphis, Tennessee on September 7, 2010. Her 19-year-old mother, Shakara Dickens, claimed that she gave Lauryn to a strange woman who claimed to be a friend of Lauryn's father, who was in jail at the time. She did not report Lauryn missing until over a week later. Lauryn's father also stated that he had not sent anyone to pick up the child. Shakara changed her story several times, including saying that Lauryn was with her grandparents, and that she had put her up for adoption. Cadaver dogs indicated the presence of human remains at Shakara's apartment and car. In 2011, Shakara was charged with murder. In June 2012, as part of a plea deal, Shakara pled guilty. She was sentenced to 19 years in prison. Lauryn's body has never been found, but foul play is suspected.
