A number of bloodstained bricks and sticks have been removed from the derelict farmhouse by cops so they can be tested as potential murder weapons.

One source described the murder scene in Lucan, Co Dublin, as “extremely disturbing”.

Cops are probing a sexual motive and whether Ana was savagely killed by someone she knew.

The Irish Sun yesterday revealed cops want to speak to two boys who are understood to have been among the last people to see the teen alive, about her death.

Ana Kriegel murder investigation: Gardai to look at CCTV footage from where schoolgirl, 14, was last seen alive
It’s understood officers may only be days away from arresting the 14-year-old schoolgirl’s killer
    By Emma McMenamy
    17:41, 22 MAY 2018

    <snip>

Gardai are examining CCTV footage from homes close to where Ana Kriegel was last seen alive to see if they can spot her killer on film.
    [.....]
Detectives investigating the case are said to be confident that DNA evidence gathered from the crime scene as well as on Ana’s clothes which were found close to her body will help to nail the killer.
    [.....]
They are hoping that along with the forensic evidence that they will hopefully be able to strengthen their case even more by capturing those involved on CCTV.

Officers have also been conducting door-to-door interviews to see if anyone witnessed anything on the evening she was murdered.

Women’s Council calls for review of femicides
Four women have died violently in Ireland so far this year
    Sorcha Pollak

The National Women’s Council has called on the Government to carry out a comprehensive review of femicides in Ireland.
    [.....]
Orla O’Connor, director of the organisation, said the Government should follow the multi-agency approach of other nations by closely examining the lives of perpetrators to figure how what happens in a man’s life that drives him to kill a woman.

Her comments follow the death of Jastine Valdez, a 24-year-old Filipino student who was abducted near Enniskerry last Saturday. Ms Valdez’s death came just a week after the sexual assault and murder of 14-year-old Ana Kriegel in Co Dublin.

I noticed the increasing number of homicides and disappearances in Ireland (specifically) in the CW European forums recently. A disturbing trend for any nation.

A 13-year-old boy has appeared before the Children's Court charged with the murder of a Dublin schoolgirl.

The minor was joined in court for the brief hearing by his parents and grandfather. Due to his age, Judge John O’Connor made clear that no name, address, or pictures identifying the boy should be circulated on print or social media.

According to The Irish Times, the accused said nothing except to confirm that it was his first time in court. The judge allowed his mother to sit beside him during the hearing.

A second boy who was arrested has been released without charge.

    Babies murdering babies.
Not giving them an excuse, but you do have to think about their own home life. They learned it was okay to rape somewhere. :(
