Anthony Sipple didn't take his cell phone or tell anyone where he was headed, Pinal County sheriff's spokesman Tim Gaffey said.
Gaffney said Sipple has made statements in the past of going on a week-long hike in the Sawtooth Mountains west of Silverbell Estates.
He has been diagnosed with depression and anxiety and it's not known if he took medication with him, Gaffney said.

If he normally told people about his planned hikes, IMO it seems strange he took off that day without notifying anyone. Besides why would he leave his cell behind?
This reminds me of another missing case I followed that sadly had a bad ending.
