Missing Mum still on the run

Fugitive mother of two, Cassie Watter, remains on the run more than a week after she is believed to have abducted her twin daughters from their Townsville primary school. By now, she could quite literally be anywhere in Australia.

The suspected abduction is unlawful and in breach of Family Court orders which Ms Watter consented to and asked the Court to make less than a year ago.

It is inevitable that someone has seen the trio in their travels, and may even know their present whereabouts. Any assistance knowingly provided to a criminal to avoid punishment is itself a serious crime.

The girls are non-identical twins - Bronte Watter and Isabella Watter (DOB 4 January 2007).

They were last seen at about 8.40am on Friday 4 April at the Hermit Park Primary School at Townsville, Queensland. Their father is deeply concerned and desperately seeking public help.

Cassie (Catherine Lee) Watter is 41-years-old (DOB 3 October 1972) and described as Caucasian, about 163cm tall, weighing about 90kg, with dark brown hair. She sometimes has a red molar facial rash.

Bronte Watter has light brown bob-cut hair, blue eyes, 100cm in height and weighs about 23kg. Isabella Watter is described as having light brown should-length hair, blue eyes, 95cm in height and weighs about 21kg.

This media release is prepared with the assistance of Dillon Lawyers, representing the father, and is subject to a publication order made by the Family Court on 10 April 2014. This complies with the requirements of the section 121 publication order under the Family Law Act 1975.

Anyone with any information about the whereabouts of Bronte Watter and Isabella Watter should contact Crimestoppers on 1800 333 000

Michael Watter determined to find twins Isabella and Bronte as AFP launches International Missing Children’s Day appeal

    May 25, 2015

EIGHT-YEAR-OLD Isabella Watter is a science fiction buff. She loves Star Wars and Doctor Who.

When she was a little younger than she is now, her Dad wondered aloud whether some of her television choices were perhaps a little scary for a girl of her age.

    Isabella rolled her eyes.

“Dad,” she said patiently, “it’s not real – it’s a movie.”

She loves sport, her school, her friends. She’s conscientious. She’ll spend an entire month colouring in a detailed picture, making sure it is just right.

Her twin Bronte is more of a dreamer. She likes fairies and Disney shows. She has a very analytical mind.

Today, Mr Watter is helping the Australian Federal Police raise awareness of spousal abduction cases for International Missing Children’s Day.

Mr Watter said he worries every day about his daughters and the effect their extended isolation must now be having on them

Anyone with information should contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000

Police urge people to follow their instincts when someone goes missing

Another well known case that remains open is that of the Watter twins, Isabella and Bronte, who went missing from Townsville with their mother Catherine in April 2014.

"Their father dropped them off at school ... and they never attended school that day and [we] believe they're in the company of their mother," Det Powell said.

"Typically Queensland Police don't get involved in custody disputes but on this occasion we are involved.

"We believe that they're probably getting assistance from elsewhere in the community ... we're very concerned to try and locate them."

This is a bit of a strange one.. it appears the mother has had some considerable help and support to keep the kids hidden, including help from at least one professional person.

I've read the dad's comments on FB, perhaps understandably angry, but they also come across as quite vindictive.

Whatever the story is there, I just hope the kids are safe and happy.

    Butterfly rash = lupus???

She'd have to be getting treatment for that, somewhere?

Parental abduction 'a growing trend', authorities say many children end up overseas

    Updated about 4 hours ago

Queensland man Michael Watter says he will not stop searching until he finds his twin daughters who have been missing for two years.

Sisters Isabella and Bronte Watter and their mother Cassie Watter vanished from Townsville in April 2014.

Their disappearance occurred several months after Mr Watter was granted full custody of the girls.

"It doesn't get any easier in that time and it probably gets a bit worse with each day when you're hoping they'll come back but they don't," he said.

Australian Federal Police (AFP) and Queensland detectives are actively investigating the case.

They believe the Watter twins may have been given new identities and they and their mother are most likely being supported by friends.

New leads in northern New South Wales are under investigation

Anyone with information on the Watter twins is encouraged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or crimestoppers.com.au
