Mentally Disabled Woman Missing for Over a Month

Cleveland police are searching for a woman who has been missing for more than a month, and they’re asking the community for help.

Christina Kleckner, 24, was last seen at her home on Cleveland’s west side. She was last seen when she went to bed on the evening of Oct. 1, said Albert Kleckner Sr., Christina’s father.

“It’s been rough at night, you know, with my daughter not being here,” he said. “She’s not playing with her Barbies or her Bratz computer or bringing me lots of coloring pages.”

Albert said the only items missing from her room were a pair of blue jeans, black boots and a black jacket–what they believe she is wearing today. She may also be carrying a purse with “Tinkerbell” written on it, her nickname and favorite cartoon character.

Albert and his wife, Sandy, have plastered the neighborhood with posters this past month, but have been left with few clues. They are particularly worried about their daughter’s health. Christina is mentally handicapped and has bipolar disorder.

“She can’t read. She can’t write,” Albert said. “Don’t know, she knows some (denomination) of money. She don’t even know how to get change when she buys something. I don’t know what she could do to herself or somebody else, being she’s not taking her medicine.”

Sandy said her daughter often frequents areas of West 73rd Street and Lorain Avenue in Cleveland.

“It’s tough, really tough,” Sandy said. “I love her, and whoever has her, or whoever she’s with needs to realize they don’t have a typical 24-year-old. They have a child with them. I just hope they can bring her to us and be able to get her home, where she belongs.”

Christina is 5′ 7”, has blue eyes and curly, dark brown hair to her shoulders. She weighs approximately 180 to 200 pounds.

If you know anything about Christina’s whereabouts, please contact the Cleveland police.

Cleveland police search area on tip about woman missing nearly 6 years

CLEVELAND -- Cleveland police officers on Tuesday were searching an area on the city's west side after getting a tip on the case of a missing mentally disabled woman, who has not been seen in almost six years.

Police say canine officers went to the 1400 block of West 112th Street in connection to Christina Kleckner's disappearance. No evidence or remains were found during the search, officials said.

Kleckner is currently 30 years old. She was last seen at her home on the west side back in October of 2011, before she went to bed.

"I was hopeful that this nightmare has come to an end and then I found out that nothing was found, so I'm still in the nightmare phase, you know, but yeah, it gives me hope that someone is still looking for her," said her mother.
