Five of Fargo murder suspect's children missing

Authorities in Minnesota are now seeking five children who are missing along with their mother, the wife of a Fargo murder suspect.

The Mower County Sheriff's Office is asking for help finding 39-year-old Izetta Cooley and her five children, ages 10 to 17.

Authorities say Cooley is under court order not to have contact with her children, but she came to a home in Rose Creek where they were staying and took three of them. Authorities say the other two children were not seen but it's possible all five are traveling with her.

Cooley's husband, 44-year-old Miguel Cooley of Moorhead, is accused of fatally shooting 20-year-old Gabriel Perez outside a McDonald's restaurant in Fargo, North Dakota, on Sept. 23. Miguel Cooley was later arrested in southeastern Minnesota.

Authorities say Izetta Cooley and her children may be in Minnesota but also may be traveling in South Dakota or North Dakota.

UPDATE 9/30 at 2:45 p.m.: There are now five Cooley children listed as missing. Three were seen leaving the residence in Rose Creek last night and traveling with Izetta (Mollyca, Mateo and Morgan). The other two, Mojo and Marco were not seen but it is possible all five are traveling with her. Law enforcement is asking for assistance in locating: Mateo Cooley, 10; Mollycia Cooley, 11; Mojo Cooley, 13; Morgan Cooley, 16; and Marco Cooley, 17. They may be in Minnesota but may also be traveling to South Dakota or North Dakota. There are no photos of the other children at this time.

MISSING! Mother & 5 children related to murder suspect vanish after mom allegedly violates court order, takes kids from home

Authorities in Minnesota are asking for the public’s help in locating a mother and five children—three of whom were reportedly last seen being taken from a Rose Creek home Saturday.

According to the West Central Tribune, the Mower County Sheriff’s Office is working to locate Mateo Cooley, 10, Mollycia Cooley, 11, and Marco Cooley, 16, who they believe was taken from their home by their mother, Izetta Cooley, 39, despite being barred from contacting them per court order.

Authorities said the woman’s two other children, Mojo Cooley, 13, and Marco Cooley, 17, haven’t been accounted for and it’s possible they’re traveling with them.

Police indicated that another sibling who was initially reported missing, Maryssa Cooley, 15, has been found safe. Details surrounding her discovery are unavailable at this time.

The outlet noted that the children’s father, Miguel Cooley Sr., 44, is currently in custody for shooting a man dead outside a Fargo McDonalds on September 23. Inforum reported that prosecutors believe Miguel shot and killed Gabriel Perez, 20, after the victim’s uncle found a phone number in his room belonging to Miguel’s wife, Isabella.

Authorities believe they’re traveling in a black 2007 Suzuki XL7 with Minnesota license plate 103WJC. WDIO reported that the Cooleys may still be in Minnesota but could be headed to South or North Dakota.

Quite a drastic change in the mother's appearance. Do we know why she was barred from her children?

I think she has/had cancer. That's what the "rumors" online are saying.
I couldn't find anything other than a "court order", but no reasons why. Perhaps more than one reason for a drastic appearance change.

Missing kids have been found in Moorhead; mother arrested on kidnapping charges

UPDATE: Police say 39-year-old Izetta Cooley was found and arrested in Moorhead on a kidnapping charge. The three kids that were missing are also at the residence and have been turned over to social services.

Mother wanted for kidnapping her own kids arrested in Moorhead; kids found

A Moorhead woman suspected of kidnapping two of her own children was arrested at her home in Moorhead about 10:50 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 2.

According to Moorhead Police Capt. Deric Swenson:

Izetta Cooley was taken into custody without incident on a warrant out of Mower County, Minn., where she faces charges of kidnapping and violating a custody order. She was taken to the Clay County Jail.

Swenson said four of Cooley’s children were also found in the home at 1213 Main Ave. and they were placed in the care of Clay County Social Services.

Morgan Cooley, 16, is still missing. He's not believed to have been with the group.

Sounds like the kids were going to be taken into custody because of the murder charges against their father.

“When she found out her children were going to be taken into protective custody, she went down and retrieved those children, with that incident, that led to her getting a warrant placed on her for kidnapping,” Capt. Deric Swenson with Moorhead Police said.

“Our main focus is not to get Izetta with her warrant, it was more to make sure her children were safe,” Swenson said.

Cooley’s husband, Miguel Cooley, Sr., is accused of shooting Gabriel Perez outside McDonald’s last week.

“We’re looking at trying to protect these kids, based on the incident that happened last week, and we’re just looking to make sure that the kids are safe,” Swenson said.
