    Bardstown Family Holds Onto Hope

The holidays are supposed to be the time to gather and celebrate but that wasn't the case for one Bardstown family.

Thursday marked the first major holiday without Crystal Rogers.

"I would do anything to have her back and have her here this thanksgiving," said Sherry Ballard, Crystal's mother.

Crystal Rogers' family go into holidays with heavy heart

Still no trace of missing mother of five Crystal Rogers, almost five months after her disappearance.

Rogers’ ex-boyfriend Brooks Houck was named the main suspect in the case. The FBI joined the Nelson County Sheriff’s Department in the search last month, but no arrests have been made.

Crystal Rogers, a mother of five, was last seen on July 3, 2015 at the home the 35-year-old shared with her boyfriend Brooks Houck and the couple's young son. Her unlocked Chevy Impala was found along Kentucky's Bluegrass Parkway with a flat fire - her belongings still inside - two days later. The Nelson County Sheriff officially named her boyfriend Houck a suspect in her disappearance in October, adding he believes Rogers is dead. Houck's brother, who worked as a Bardstown police officer, was terminated from the department after officials say he interfered with the investigation into Crystal's disappearance. If you have any information that can help the investigation, please contact the Nelson County Sheriff's Office at (502) 348-3211.

Woman steals signs for missing Bardstown mother

Crystal Rogers, the missing Bardstown mother of five, has been missing for eight months.

Now signs asking people to pray for her safe return have also disappeared. Rogers’ mother, Sherry Ballard, said it’s a slap in the face.

“I just told her can you explain to me why you did that, just give me a reason? She actually told me, I'm tired of Crystal. So when she said that, it just blew me away,” Ballard told WDRB News.

Yeah well, maybe if they disappeared and couldn't be found they'd hope no one got tired of THEM!

The selfishness of some people just slays me.

Ceremony To Be Held For Several Missing Kentuckians

Tomorrow evening the family and friends of at least eight different missing people will gather at Salem Elementary School in Russell Springs for a remembrance ceremony.

“We just kind of want to bring everybody out to show support that we’re not the only ones in this. Everybody can work together and try to accomplish our goal, to bring them home,” said Sarah.

Car possibly involved in Crystal Rogers disappearance analyzed

New information has been released in the disappearance of Crystal Rogers of Bardstown.

Investigators said they are analyzing a car that they believe might have been involved in her disappearance.

Rogers has been missing for nearly a year. The newest information could be a big break in the case, but one person is refusing to talk, authorities said.

Witnesses told investigators that the night Rogers disappeared, a white Buick was parked in a strange place at a farm owned by the mother of suspect Brooks Houck.

According to court documents, Houck's grandmother, Anna Whitesides, owned a white Buick at the time but later sold it.

    Hearing today

Legal battle over whether Houck's grandmother will testify

Soon after her disappearance a witness reported seeing a white Buick in a "peculiar location" on a family farm of Rogers' boyfriend Brooks Houck, who the Nelson County Sheriff's Office have named the main suspect in her disappearance.

"We didn't connect it with anything," Sherry Ballard said, "So that was a big red flag when it was announced that she had a car just like that."

"I think it’s a big puzzle, piece of the puzzle," Tommy Ballard said.

Law enforcement discovered the Houck's grandmother, Anna Whitesides was an owner of a white Buick. They obtained a search warrant to seize the car, but Whitesides told them she had sold it.

According to court documents, investigators believe this white Buick was used to dispose of a body, was then cleaned and sold in an attempt to prevent them from finding evidence.

"She fully cooperated with police, gave them two full statements," Whiteside's Attorney Jason Floyd said.

Whitesides was called to testify before a grand jury, but she objected and has asserted her Fifth Amendment right against self-incrimination. Floyd filed a motion to quash the subpoena.

"When it comes to the Fifth Amendment, all of a sudden if you invoke it, you must be guilty, nothing could be further from the truth it is the exact opposite and the courts have routinely held that it is a safe harbor for the innocent not to be ensnared by a government investigation," Whitesides said.
