Critically Missing Adult alert issued for Southampton Co. woman

State Police have issued a Critically Missing Adult alert for a 34-year-old woman who disappeared in the town of Newsoms.

When deputies responded to Carver's residence located on Everett Street, they reportedly found blood inside.

Deputies say there was enough blood found in the home to suggest that a crime had occurred. The residence was secured and a search warrant was obtained.

State Police say there is no suspect or vehicle information at this time.

"The last time I talked to her, it was Thursday night. She had the kids then, cause she hadn't taken them to the babysitter. I haven't talked to her since then, " said Cynthia's mother, Ann Carver.

Family members have already made flyers with her picture on it and started passing them out, in hopes of bringing her home safely.

"She was supposed to go on a job, so yesterday afternoon I came through here and the front door was open. I usually go by, but I stopped and came in and when I came in I saw blood and stuff in the house," said Ann.

Ann says that is not the only thing she saw inside the home.

"Right here at the door and in the living room and there was a knife lying in front of the sofa," said Ann.

Anyone with information on her location or where she has been seen should contact the Southampton County Sheriff's Office or the Crime Line.

Family Of Missing VA Mother Says She Was Meeting A Man The Night She Disappeared

The Southampton County Sheriff's Office held a news conference Monday to update people on the case of missing mother Cynthia Carver.

The last time anyone saw the 34-year-old mother of two was Thursday, February 21. She dropped her children off at a babysitter's home around 9 p.m. Carver's family told deputies that she was supposed to meet a man that night. They didn't know who the man was.

Carver is a correctional officer, She was supposed to start a new job at a different facility on February 22, but she didn't show up.

"It threw a red flag. When she has to work, she's at work. She has the same routine,” said Carver's brother, Antoine Little.

Relatives began texting and calling Carver, and when they didn’t get a response, Carver’s mother, Ann, went to her home. She found Carver’s car parked in the grass, and the back door was wide open.

"I called for her first, but then right there at the door, there was a lot of blood leading from the door to the carpet. I walked a little farther in, and there was a knife right there in front of the sofa," said Carver.

Investigators said they searched Carver's home on Everett Street in Newsoms and found blood and evidence that a crime had taken place.

“Detectives have collected evidence from inside of Cynthia’s home. Evidence suggests Cynthia did not leave on her own free will,” said Lieutenant CamdenCobb. “Based on interviews with family and friends we know Cynthia was possibly meeting an unknown male at her home that night."

Carver’s sister who didn’t want to be identified said she just wants her sister back.

“She has two beautiful children that need her right now. Her family needs her. My mom needs her. It’s just tragic,” said Carver’s sister.

Virginia State Police issued a Critically Missing Adult Alert on behalf of the Southampton County Sheriff’s Office. The alert expired Sunday night.

The sheriff's office said Monday that Carver's cell phone, purse, and wallet were missing. Deputies are working with the Federal Bureau of Investigation to find her.

Southampton County works to find a missing mother

The Southampton community is working together to help find a missing mother of two, Cynthia Carver.

The 34-year-old was last seen Thursday when dropping her children off at a babysitter's house. Carver, a correctional officer, didn't show up at work Friday morning causing her family to worry.

Police found blood and a knife inside Carver's home, but there was no sign of her. The mother's purse, wallet and phone were also missing.

Investigators said that Carver was set to meet an unknown man on Thursday night.

Family members have put posters of Carver throughout the community. Neighbor Derinda Parker says everyone should work to spread the word.

"It would be nice if there were more signs up so that people could be aware she's missing, and so she could come home safe," said Paker. "Social media would definitely help. If they see her, or any sign of her they could help out. Everyone must call in, call the police, or call somebody to help if they see her."

"If somebody's missing, then they're missing and they need help. I'm praying for the kids, the family, everybody. Somebody could see her, because it's a very tight-knit community," said Carver.

Bellamy Gamboa's sister offers support to Cynthia Carver's family after Governor Proclaims "Bellamy Day"

It's been nearly a week since Cynthia Carver went missing in Southampton County and so far, there have been no signs of her anywhere as investigators continue looking for her.

The last known person to see the mother of two was her best friend, Sherita Sledge.

"She's a very sweet person and she'll give you the clothes off her back," Sledge told 13News Now.

Charisse Gamboa, the sister of Bellamy Gamboa, the mother from Virginia Beach who disappeared last July and still hasn't been found, said she wants Carver's family to stay strong.

Bellamy's ex-boyfriend, Lamont Johnson, confessed to killing her even though her body is still missing.

"Just hang in there and don't give up. Think about her children and it could be exhausting so stay healthy yourself, get sleep, but do what you need to do," said Charisse.

Charisse said their family knows all too well the heartbreak Carver's family may be facing right now, but she hopes the family gets answers soon.

Virginia woman’s disappearance investigated as abduction; possible suspect vehicle identified

February 21 was the last time family and friends heard from mother of two Cynthia Carver.

A press briefing was held on Tuesday to discuss updated developments in the case, WTKR reports.

Based on the information received by officials thus far, detectives are investigating her disappearance as an abduction.

The investigation also revealed a possible suspect vehicle said to be a silver Chrysler, possibly a Chrysler 200 or a vehicle similar to that model. A vehicle matching that description was seen leaving Carver's residence the night of her abduction.

In the case, there are multiple persons of interest that the officials are working to identify and interview based on any recent contacts they may have had with Carver.

The FBI has established a dedicated tip line for information on Cynthia's whereabouts. Anyone with information is asked to contact (757)-609-2482.

Another one that just keeps getting worse.

Blood found on knife, driveway, clothing, sheets, carpet, of abducted mother's home

Court documents detail new information in the case of a mother believed by police to have been abducted from her Newsoms home two weeks ago.

Inside the home, Anne Carver found blood in multiple places on the carpet and "a pool of blood by the rear door," court documents state.

Anne Carver also discovered a bloody knife in her daughter's living room, according to court documents.

Deputies arrived at Carver's home around 1 p.m. and found more blood: On Carver's driveway and on sheets and clothing inside the home, Cobb confirmed.

Although there were no signs of forced entry, there were signs of a struggle in one part of the home. Cobb would not elaborate on which part of the house the struggle may have happened.

Cobb said that a "significant" number of items were taken during the deputies' search of Carver's home. According to court documents, some of those items included DNA evidence, clothing, the knife, a 4-door Chevy, and a yellow Amazon tablet with the name "C. Carver" written on the back in black magic marker.

Officials have received data analysis from the Amazon tablet and are working through any evidence that it may have contained.

Police have spoken to "numerous" people, but haven't narrowed their suspect pool down to a single person. Through search warrants they were able to determine that she was in Norfolk and Portsmouth the day she was reported missing, Cobb said.

Deputies are searching for a silver Chrysler -- potentially a Chrysler 200 -- seen leaving from Carver's home the night she disappeared.

Missing Southampton Co. mom’s last phone call could help investigators

Words out of the mouth of missing Southampton County mom Cynthia Carter could help led investigators to where she is.

Court documents state that relatives overheard her saying to a man over the phone that she would wait up for him on the last day anyone saw her.

News 3 spoke with the Southampton County Sheriff’s Office on the phone, and officials said they’ve been following up on the tips they've been receiving.

I am hoping some of the perp's blood was found on the knife...
As using knifes so violently often leads to slippage...
And the user gets cut, too!

I hope his DNA is found in the evidence collected...

perhaps his DNA is in CODIS...
