KS DICKINSON COUNTY JANE DOE: BF, 50-60, found in a rural area - 24 October 1987

    On 10/24/1987 the skeletal remains of a black female were found in an isolated rural area in Dickinson County, Kansas.

    The body was clad in a maroon T-shirt embossed on the front with the words “ASTRONAUT CROSS COUNTRY - We Believe In State Championships 1980”. The body was wearing Jalapeno brand denim jeans and Sugar Babies brand tennis shoes.

    The T-shirt worn by the victim was traced to the Titusville, Florida area as one High School in that area was called the Astronaut High School however no information has been developed from that area concerning missing persons fitting the description of the victim.

    A Forensic Anthropologist determined that the victim was a black female between the ages of 40 and 50 years old who was approximately 5’2 ½” to 5’5 ½” tall and it was estimated that she died sometime between 07/01/1987 and 09/15/1987.

    The body was clad in a maroon T-shirt embossed on the front with the words “ASTRONAUT CROSS COUNTRY - We Believe In State Championships 1980”. The body was wearing Jalapeno brand denim jeans and Sugar Babies brand tennis shoes.

    Astronaut high school in Titusville, Florida won boys and girls state cross country championships in 1980. I wonder if she had a child or grandkid who ran on one of those teams? I know LE claimed no leads came from the Titusville connection but just wondering how hard they looked....
