Thankyou Kimster - so glad Dolphin Doe has a thread :thankyou:

Here is another picture of Dolphin Doe - this one done by an artist has the Doe with Blue Eyes - the correct eye colour reported at NAMUS is BROWN

    woman pulled from ocean picture.jpg

I dont know if this is any help but here below is a rendered version of Dolphin Doe with Brown eyes.
This IS NOT an official released photo - just a version with the eye colour adjusted.

Thank you MULDER! I hadn't found that and this will be a much better picture to put up on our media board and share on social media! I really really appreciate you taking the time!

I'll have to wait to make the changes when I'm on a computer. Can't seem to do it from my phone!

Found floating in the ocean - that would seem to be the loneliest ending ever for any person :vigil:

Wow, GGE! Nice catch! Can definitely see a resemblance.

My only "concern" is that Renee has 4 additional tattoos that were not noted on Dolphin Doe.

Anyone know why Dolphin Doe's DNA has not been run? Her NamUs says DNA is available but not yet submitted. Renee has her DNA in the NamUs database. If/when Dolphin Doe's DNA is ran that would be easy.

    Might be worth submitting anyway.

yeah the thing is, I've read in another particular case that was solved after like 20 years just recently that the detective in that case thought that just uploading the DNA from his UID was enough to make the database compare eerything for matches. It wasn't until an independant investigator came in and manually selected individuals to compare the DNA to and then ran it that it compared the DNA to anyone at all. Just uploading does nothing. I was shocked that LE doesn't know this. But if they don't TRY to compare this UID's DNA to specifically chosen people in NAMUS, it's not gonna find a match. You can't just upload it and think the computer does the work. I bet there are TONS of cases where this is the problem.

I don't know how to submit something or who to do it to. I did contact the only person whose email address was on the NAMUS report though. It was an email that goes back to a university so I don't even know if it was just a random family member's address (because family can submit listings) or what?

re: the tattoos - Renee was last seen in 2007 but wasn't reported missing until 2014. Lots of time in there to get additional tattoos that her family didn't know about IMO.

Just trying to see any further resemblances. IMO this is a dead ringer (pardon the pun).

I got word back from the person I contacted, who informed me that both the UID and Pastore are noted to have had fingerprint data uploaded with their cases, and since there was no automatic flag for any matches on either observed to occur after the fact, they must not be the same person. I replied to let him know that it is my understanding that they must be manually checked or at least requested to be checked against one another for it to happen, at least with DNA, at least with SOME databases, and thanked him for the info and wished him luck with this case.

So. I do think this may well be a match but one that hasn't been properly manipulated in the databases, to be honest. and IMO. But it won't be found out because it's presumed that uploading fingerprints is the same thing as running the query to find matches on them.

    and hey maybe it is.

    or maybe it's not.

Renee already had those additional tattoos when she disappeared. She was noted as having 5 total tattoos.

Dolphin Doe only has 1 tattoo noted, the one on her ankle of the dolphins.

People can definitely add tattoos, but having 4 removed isn't too likely. Unless DD does have those tattoos and they just weren't noted in the case file.

I was under the impression that all of that is automatically checked... If a Doe has DNA entered into NamUs, it will auto-check against any missing persons with their DNA in NamUs also, and then flag any matches. Same with fingerprints and dentals.

I can't remember who I heard it from, maybe Carl.

Hopefully that's how it works. Seems like a poor use of resources if it doesn't automatically check. So many matches could be missed that way, like you said.

whoops I was getting the ladies' information switched/inside out IYKWIM. I'm talking about adding but the relevant situation would have required removing. Sorry, and thanks for pointing that out!

Advocate Ask me how to get your loved one in NamUs

The DNA would have to be available in the same system. I can name a few cases where the UP was not in the same database as the MP. If you see DNA complete on NamUs; make sure you still turn any potential matches in
