On 10/02/2003 human remains, belonging to a Hispanic male adult in his 30s-40s, were found in the Ocotillo mountains, west of Ocotillo, California. The route is commonly traveled by illegal aliens. A wallet containing pictures of children and a female were found near the remainings. The name of "AVILA-TORRES" and possibly the word "RANA" were carved on the wallet.

He also had a business card for a Los Angeles gardening service in his wallet. The image can be found at the NamUS link, along with many other images.

The best way to find him might be sharing this picture on social media!

    Rana means frog in Spanish.

    Is it a brand name?

Possibly, but I've no familiarity with what sounds like a hand-made wallet.
    Just checked..that's a Pakistani brand of wallet...curiouser
I'm going to say Hispanic based on the woman's hairstyle.

Oh really? Do you think the woman and child in the picture look Hispanic, or could they be Pakistani???

You know I never use the term 'race' because it doesn't exist, to my training & thinking. Ethnicity, however: they could be Hispanic or Afro-Semitic (Pakistani) hard to tell. I would have guessed Hispanic but for the wallet. Mexico & Latin America are full of locally made leather. Just musing. Hairstyle of woman looks Hispanic.

I don't look at races either. As far as I could tell, they could be from either part of the world. But for search purposes, it would be a good clue.
