Detectives need help finding missing woman last seen at Tacoma gas station

The Pierce County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public's help to find Ginger Lynn Gover, who has been missing under suspicious circumstances since July 29, according to the Sheriff's Office.

The 41-year-old was last seen at the Chevron gas station on 112th and Canyon Road in Tacoma.

Gover was driving from downtown Tacoma to visit some friends in Eatonville when she had to stop at the Chevron gas station to fix a flat tire, according to the Sheriff's Office. She called her friend at 10:20 a.m. to notify of the delay.

Her other friend reportedly met Gover at the Chevron and helped her change the tire, and said that Gover drove away after to meet her friend in Eatonville.

She never arrived at her friend’s house in Eatonville and has not been seen or heard since.

On August 6, Gover’s dark green 2000 Honda Civic car was found abandoned in a warehouse complex on Valley Ave. Northwest in Puyallup. The vehicle was stripped and likely dumped off a trailer in the early morning hours on August 4, according to the Pierce County Sheriff’s Office.

She is a caregiver for her father, and it is very unusual for her not to have contacted him or her friends, according to the Sheriff's Office.

She stopped to fix a flat tire in Summit area and hasn’t been seen in nearly 2 weeks

A woman disappeared more than a week ago after stopping to fix a flat tire in the Summit area, and detectives say there are suspicious circumstances.

Ginger Gover, 41, left her Olympia home on July 29 and went to visit friends in downtown Tacoma.

She left there by 9 a.m. and headed toward another friend’s house in Eatonville.

About 10:20 a.m., she called her friend to say she had a flat tire and was going to get it fixed.

A different friend later told Pierce County sheriff’s investigators that Gover called him and he fixed her tire that morning at a Chevron gas station near 112th Street East and Canyon Road East.

Gover has not been heard from since.

Detectives became particularly concerned Monday after Gover’s car was found stripped and abandoned at a warehouse complex in Puyallup.

Police found the dark green 2000 Honda Civic in the 900 block of Valley Avenue NW.

It was likely dumped off a trailer in the early morning hours Saturday, sheriff’s spokesman Ed Troyer said.

Nothing sounds good about this case. Was she seen leaving the repair shop at all?

It sounds like a friend came to the gas station and helped her change the tire. I also would like to know if that Chevron has security cameras. Something in the area should have a camera that can verify in what method and direction she left.

Father worries daughter missing since July could be in trouble

“If you’re out there and you know something and you can help, please do so,” said Ginger’s father, Wayne Phillips.

Phililps says his daughter is smart and generous but he worries something terrible could have happened.

“She would have called me, she wouldn’t have left her dog,” he said. “Her and that dog are inseparable. That’s what worries me most.”

Crime Stoppers is offering up to $1,000 reward for information in this case; the number to call is 1-800-222-TIPS.
