Taskforce Purana detectives are today searching for evidence at a reservoir in Myrniong near Ballan as part of the investigation into the murder of Graham Kinniburgh in 2003.

Graham Kinniburgh was killed around 12.05am on 13 December 2003 when he was shot and killed in the driveway of his home in Belmont Avenue, Kew.

A 55-year-old Anakie man was charged with one count of murder last year.

As a result of an extensive investigation, information has been received that the firearm and other evidence used in the murder may be located at Pykes Creek.

Stephen Asling found guilty of Graham Kinniburgh's 2003 murder

Stephen Asling has been found guilty in the Victorian Supreme Court of the murder of gangland figure Graham 'The Munster' Kinniburgh in Melbourne 15 years ago.

Kinniburgh was gunned down outside his home in Kew in 2003.

Asling was arrested in Geelong in November 2015 over the murder.

The court heard Asling, 56, carried out the hit with another man, Terrence Blewitt, under the instruction of underworld kingpin Carl Williams, who was murdered in prison in 2010.
