Two days before the first anniversary of Holly Grim's disappearance in Lower Macungie Township, state police said Thursday the missing-person case is "open and active."

Trooper Robert E. Devers also appealed to the public to phone the state police barracks at Fogelsville with information that might be helpful to the investigation.

"The Pennsylvania State Police would like to remind the public that her case remains open and active and that the public are encouraged to provide any investigative tips or leads by calling the Fogelsville station," Devers said in a news release.

Pennsylvania Crime Stoppers is offering a cash reward for tips that help find her, he added.

Lower Macungie missing woman's family believes she was abducted

November 29, 2013|By Frank Warner, Of The Morning Call

Holly Grim, the Lower Macungie Township woman who disappeared last week after she dropped her son off at a school bus stop, remains missing, police said Friday.

Grim's relatives said they believe something bad happened to her on Nov. 22 between 6:33 a.m., when she drove her teenage son, Zach, to the bus stop, and 7 a.m., when her mother stopped at her mobile home to check on her.

Holly Grim, 41, of the Red Maples Mobile Home Park, was not home when her mother walked in. Her mother said she found Holly's glasses, her cigarettes and an overturned cup of coffee.

Grim's keys also were there and her car still was out front, her mother said. And Grim was due to be at her job at Allen Organ Co. in Macungie.

"She lived for her son. She wouldn't leave him behind. She loved life. She had a simple life, but she could stand up for herself. She had six brothers. She was the baby. At this point, I don't know more. I just know, whoever took her, I want her back."

Dwayne Mory of Macungie, Grim's boyfriend the last four years, said Friday he was staying over at Grim's home early the morning she disappeared, but he left before she did.

"I got up for work, gave her a kiss goodbye," he said. "She took her son, dropped him off at the bus stop. Later, I got a call from her mom: She wasn't at home."

On hearing the news, Mory returned to the mobile home in the 1100 block of Grange Road, about a mile west of Wescosville and a half-mile south of Route 222. There, he said, the only hints of a struggle were the overturned coffee cup and a shifted coffee table.

"What happened?" he asked, noting that he hasn't heard what police may have found.

Volunteers comb South Allentown in search for Holly Grim

    January 10, 2015 at 11:45 AM

Grim disappeared from her home in the fall of 2013 under "suspicious and unexplained circumstance," Pennsylvania State Police have said.

On a bitterly cold and bright Saturday morning, a group of about 30 volunteers did more than ask as they searched a South Allentown area for any clues that would explain what happened to Grim.

Police were called after Grim didn't report to work at Allen Organ Co. Nov 22, 2013 and her family wasn't able to get in touch with her. She was last seen taking her son to a bus stop near her home in the Red Maples Mobile Home Park in the 1100 block of Grange Road.

Romig said there is no new information that led the group to choose South Allentown, but organizers wanted to expand the search beyond the area around Grim's home and neighborhood, which has been repeatedly searched.

"We felt it was time to branch out," Romig said, adding the group was focusing on more isolated and remote areas, like Walking Purchase Park. "We're hopeful we come up with some clues."

Police give Lehigh County woman’s disappearance a second look

    April 29, 2014

Pennsylvania State Police are taking a fresh look at the disappearance of a Lehigh County woman. Holly Ann Grim, 42, of Lower Macungie was last seen on Friday morning November 22, 2013 just after she drove her teenage son to a school bus stop. After she was expected to go to work at Allen Organ Co., in Macungie. She hasn’t been heard from since.

Last Monday, State Troopers began another round of talking to neighbors in the Red Maples Mobile Home Park where Grim lived. Grim had returned home after dropping out her son, but abruptly left leaving behind her car, her eye glasses, cigarettes and an overturned cup of coffee. Her mother, Jeanette Grim arrived at her daughter’s home at 7 am that morning, less than a half hour later, but no was there. At the time no one living in the mobile home park heard or saw anything unusual.

Grim is 5 feet 3 inches tall, thin build, with brown eyes, and short brown hair. Besides her mother, Grim has five grown sons and a boyfriend. Lehigh Valley Crime Stoppers is offering a reward for any information in the disappearance. Tipsters can also contact the Pennsylvania State Police, Fogelsville Barracks at (610) 395-1438.

New hopes raised for missing woman

    Saturday October 11, 2014 12:01 AM

Reading Eagle: Tim Leedy | Jeanette Grim, right, talks to a visitor Friday outside the mobile home in Lower Macungie Township where her adult daughter, Holly, was last seen nearly a year ago. With Grim are Holly's friend Erica Seither and Seither's daughter, Layla.

As the one-year anniversary of Holly Grim's mysterious disappearance approaches, friends and family members of the 41-year-old western Lehigh County single mother are still searching for answers.

As far as they know, the last time anyone laid eyes on her was when she entered her home in the Red Maples Mobile Home Park in Lower Macungie Township the morning of Nov. 22. That was right after she dropped her 16-year-old son, Zachary, off at his bus stop.

A neighbor was the last person to see Grim as she entered her home, investigators said.

Seither said Grim's purse was found in the home and there were signs that could indicate a struggle occurred.

"We know she went home," Seither said. "She was taken out of her home, somehow. We just don't know the rest."

Trooper Robert Devers, a criminal investigator at the Fogelsville station, said investigators are working on the case every month.

He said investigators can't say whether Grim was killed.

"We are keeping all options open," Devers said this week. "There's nothing to indicate she's deceased but nothing to indicate she's alive somewhere. Whether she was abducted or disappeared on her own, we just don't know. So all possibilities are on the table."

Jeanette Grim, 68, said the disappearance of her only daughter has taken a huge emotional and psychological toll on Holly's soon-to-be-17 son, whom she raised alone, as well as her five brothers.

Holly, who never married, spent much of her free time with her boyfriend, Dwayne Mory, on racing activities. Mory was on a pit crew at Mahoning Valley Speedway in Lehighton, Carbon County.

Mory also is struggling to get by without his companion, Jeanette Grim said.

"He's as much of a basket case as we are," she said. "He tries to keep himself busy to keep his mind occupied."
