Clothing could belong to missing Morristown woman

Inesha Haygood's family is hoping a new clue may help lead them to the 24-year-old woman who seemed to vanish weeks ago.

Her family said she was last seen driving with an unknown man.

Family members said that investigators have been searching almost non-stop for Haygood. They've been focusing a lot of their attention on Enka Highway because Investigators may have found some of her clothing in a nearby tomato field.

The family is still waiting on DNA results to see if the clothes and shoes found in that field are a match.

If Haygood isn't found by Friday, the family plans to hold a search party. They will meet on Saturday at noon at the Shell gas station off of exit 12 on I-81.

Family keeps searching for missing Morristown woman

Family members are still looking for a missing Morristown woman, but now they aren’t sure if they’ll find her dead or alive.

Inesha Haygood has a 7-year-old daughter and Brenda Haygood says it’s hard for her.

The Haygoods and about 100 other volunteers search for Inesha every Saturday and will keep looking, no matter how long it takes.

Missing Morristown woman’s family holds vigil, asks for answers

A family is looking for answers and continuing to search for their missing loved one. On Saturday night they held a candlelight vigil for Inesha Haygood, missing for more than 9 months.

Haygood’s family tells us since she disappeared in December 2015, life has been agonizing without her. While the Morristown Police Department has made an arrest in connection to the case, Haygood still hasn’t been found.

In February, Simeon Mendoza was arrested by Morristown Police and is facing charges on making false statements relating to Haygood’s disappearance.

Morristown family continues search for loved one 2 years after disappearance

Two years have passed since the last time anyone heard from Inesha Haygood. She was last seen December 28, 2015, leaving her home in Morristown.

Since then the Haygoods have been holding vigils for people to gather, pray and keep Inesha in their thoughts. As another year goes by, they're still holding out hope she'll be found alive.

"She's on my mind all the time. There's not a day that goes by that I don't miss her," said Inesha's mom, Brenda Haygood.

Every day seems to get harder and the heartache of missing Inesha Haygood gets murkier.

"I don't know if I rather them never find her and just keep that hope or find her and know and have some peace or whatever. There's never going to be no peace," said Brenda Haygood.

The family says it's been two years of suffering, especially for Inesha Haygood's 9-year old daughter.

"No child should have to suffer like this. My baby was just 24 years old. She was just starting to live her life."

While the Haygoods feel Inesha is no longer alive, they still have hope they'll get answers because maybe one day she'll walk through their front door.

For an extra set of eyes, Morristown police investigators are having TBI look at the case because they believe there may be connections in other jurisdictions.

If you know something about Inesha Haygood's disappearance, give them a call no matter how small or insignificant you may feel the information is. Police say it could be the key to solving this case. You can remain anonymous by calling their tip line at (423) 585-1833.

Human remains found Wednesday in Grainger County have been identified as those of a woman who was reported missing from Morristown in January 2016.

Morristown Police Department investigators and Tennessee Bureau of Investigation agents used dental records to identify the remains as those of Inesha Haygood.

Two men hunting mushrooms in rural Grainger County found Haygood's remains, police said in a news release.

Authorities have not released a cause of death for Haygood, who was reported missing by her family on Jan. 5, 2016.

The Morristown Police Department is still seeking information regarding her disappearance. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 423-585-2701.
