    External image

On July 31, 1988, a skeleton was found in a shallow grave by a boy who was digging at the edge of his family's property in Irondequoit, Monroe County, New York. No signs of trauma were found, but the cause of death was ruled as a homicide.

The remains were those of a white female between 4 feet 10 inches and 5 feet 5 inches tall. Her weight, hair color, and eye color could not be determined. She had significant dental restoration, which included gold foil fillings.

The victim, who was between 15 and 19 years of age, may have been deceased for as long as 10 to 30 years before being found . No clothing was found at the scene. A single white button, which may have belonged to the victim, was found near the remains.

  13. Submitted possible match for UP #2607 at NamUs. I doubt it's her but want to see Erica's name in the ruled out list just to make sure.

If not for the extensive dental work, I would suspect that this woman is Sylvia Lwowski, who disappeared while on a date with her fiance in September 1975. The height range works, and so does the estimated time of death. Her age (22) is close, too. Sylvia doesn't have any dental records on file, but her brother says her teeth were perfect, so if that's true, this can't be her. Still, he may be wrong about the teeth, as little brothers can be, so as soon as I figure out how to do it, I will post one of her photos to see what other people think

    Hello @WitchHazel! :welcome:

I remember Sylvia's case. The situation of her throwing her glasses on the dashboard is what I remembered about her case! I look forward to the pic you have to share.

It's about a 6 hour drive from where Sylvia went missing. Here's the other pics: http://www.charleyproject.org/cases/l/lwowski_sylvia.html

Do you know why her brother said she had perfect teeth?

I don't know why he said that her teeth were perfect; I mean, my little brother has no idea if I have fillings, or how many. And according to Namus, there are no dental records on file, so there is no way of knowing. It is hard to tell from the artist's rendering how the uid's teeth really looked, or if the restorations would show; maybe Sylvia had teeth which had no obvious restorations, and that's why he said it.

I know that Irondequoit is 6 hours from Staten Island, and that might seem to contraindicate the possibility that this could be Sylvia, but I had to suggest it because some of the uid's features seem to fit, and I'd like to see if Sylvia might be ruled out, at least. I sure would like Sylvia to be found, for her brother's sake
