Missing woman believed to have been kidnapped by ex-boyfriend, Devine police say

Police in Devine are searching for a missing woman who they believe was kidnapped by her ex-boyfriend.

Police said Jorge Jaramillo, 48, entered the woman's home in the 300 block of Fox Run Drive through a window Sunday morning. Police said he was armed with a handgun and forced her to leave the house with him in her vehicle.

Devine police later found the vehicle in the 6000 block of County Road 4514 near Pearson.

Several agencies, including the Texas Department of Public Safety, the Texas Department of Corrections and Medina County deputies assisted in a search for Jaramillo and the victim by helicopter, on foot and with the use of tracking dogs. The search was unsuccessful.

The victim is considered to be endangered.

Missing Devine woman kidnapped by ex-boyfriend identified

Family members and police have identified the woman they believe was kidnapped by her ex-boyfriend at gunpoint.

Jessica Sanchez is still missing more than 24 hours after her alleged kidnapping.

The Devine Police Department says that Jorge Jaramillo climbed through a window into her house in the 300 block of Fox Run Drive. He then allegedly forced Sanchez at gunpoint to leave the house with him, using her vehicle to escape the area.

"They had been together for about 7 years and separated on Memorial [Day] after an incident occurred." Santiago Carrillo, Jessica's brother-in-law told KENS 5.

Devine Police confirmed Sanchez had an emergency protection order against Jaramillo after a recent incident involving a knife.

"The only thing I could fathom is he could not take not being with her and so he found a breaking point," Carrillo continued.

Sanchez's three daughters were inside the home at the time of the kidnapping early Sunday morning but were unharmed, family members say.

Police located Sanchez's vehicle in the 6000 block of County Road 4514 in the Pearson area with her cell phone inside. Authorities conducted a search of the area with the help of a DPS helicopter and tracking dogs alongside police officers and Medina County deputies, but neither were found.

"Please if anyone has seen or heard anything can you please let the Police Department know," Carrillo pleaded. "We have a big support group as far as family and friends go but all prayers are much needed at this time."

Jaramillo is wanted by police for Aggravated Kidnapping, authorities say.

Police looking for missing woman kidnapped at gunpoint

Police in Devine are looking for Jessica Sanchez, who they say was kidnapped at gunpoint on Sunday.

Police and family doing everything they can just to get the images of this missing woman out there, with the hopes to reunite her with the three little girls she was taken from.

All that Blasa Carrillo wants is to find her missing sister.

‘There’s a lot of people that want to help search with us but and that’s great we appreciate that but where do we look we don’t know where to look.” Carrillo said.

Doing the best she can to comfort three little girls now missing their mother, who Devine Police Lieutenant Christopher Andrews said was taken by Jorge Jaramillo at gunpoint.

“The ex wife of the offender come in and report a gun was missing and he had taken it, she stated shew as unaware that he had taken it prior to her dropping him off at one of our city parks which happens to be in close proximity to where miss Sanchez lives.” Andrews said.

According to the police, Jaramillo broke in through the window and held Sanchez at gunpoint, before firing a warning shot into a wall to keep the children away.

“They Saw everything from the gun to being put into the laundry room to hearing the gun go off and mom saying pretty much goodbye.” Sanchez said.

Sanchez and Jaramillo were in a relationship together, which did have a history, Jaramillo was arrested during a fight at home on Memorial Day.

“We thought that was going to be the end of it being he was arrested.” Carrillo said.

Now, Carrillo spends her time comforting a family, waiting for their mother to return home.

“It’s very hard not to cry because one of the twins that’s all she’s been doing and just hugging her and trying not to cry.” Carrillo said

Police want people to know if you see Jaramillo *do not* approach him, he is considered to still be armed and dangerous, and to call police or 9-1-1 if you see him.

That's something you'll never forget. :tears:

Bodies of missing woman, ex-boyfriend found in Medina County, Devine police chief confirms

The bodies of a woman and her ex-boyfriend, who police said kidnapped her, were found in the Pearson area, just outside of Devine, according to Devine Police Chief Kandy Benavides.

The Devine Police Department confirmed the bodies were those of Jessica Sanchez, 37, and Jorge Jaramillo, 48, who allegedly took Sanchez from her home in front of her daughters at gunpoint on June 30.

The bodies were found around 3 p.m. Tuesday on private property near the 6000 block of County Road 4514.

"They've been laying here for nine days," said Gary Mangold, the owner of the property where the bodies were found.

The spot where Mangold said Devine police traced Sanchez's car on Sunday is about 100 yards away from where Mangold said he found the bodies, which were behind a cattle fence line.

"Within 50 yards of where my mother lives over here and no one knew it," Mangold said.

Mangold said police never went behind the fence line where he found the bodies. He said he normally would never go into that area of his property, which is covered with trees and brush, but he happened to stumble upon the area on Tuesday.

"It’s just closure for the family now, and that’s good. At least they know. Not knowing is a terrible thing," Mangold said.

The cause of death of both individuals has not been confirmed by authorities.
