Dallas police are searching for a Jeep Cherokee caught on camera leaving the scene of an Uptown apartment tower garage moments after Dr Kendra HatcherDDS , 35, was murdered. The Cherokee entered the restricted garage piggy-backing behind another vehicle, parked and waited. Hatcher arrived, parked her vehicle and got out. At that point the person in the Cherokee got out of their car and appeared to walk toward Hatcher. But police declined to say the Cherokee driver was the one who shot Hatcher or is even a suspect.
The Cherokee driver then gets back into the vehicle and leaves the garage. The Cherokee has damaged or faded paint on the hood and paper tags.

Lovely sentiment for a cover pic posted July 5:
F it. + You. Him. Her. Them. Everybody. The world.

Apparently she is the mother of a darling boy. And she is now in a lot of trouble. She works as a dental assistant - for Hatcher????

Cortes says she was paid $500 to drive the shooter.

One of the first witnesses to come forward was a man inside the apartment parking garage. The man, who doesn’t want to be identified, said he heard Dr. Hatcher scream, heard gunfire, and then saw a white man hurry from the garage and get into a beat up black Jeep Cherokee. The witness said the man was wearing a black hoodie and had it pulled forward to cover his face.

Dallas woman admits role in Uptown killing; unidentified shooter at large
Cortes told detectives that robbery was the motive for staking out the garage to wait for Hatcher, 35, according to an affidavit. She said someone paid her $500 to drive the gunman to commit the crime.
Police homed in on Cortes after a man and woman told them they recognized the Jeep Cherokee that was seen when Hatcher was killed. The woman had borrowed the Jeep from the man and then let her friend Cortes use it.....When Cortes met with detectives voluntarily, she confessed to her role in the crime and said the gunman had stolen several items from Hatcher....Although surveillance images released last week show only a driver in the Jeep, police said they corroborated Cortes’ account with witnesses and video evidence.

I hope police are not as confused as I am about this.

And there is always the ?? DM report of events. Though somehow, they always get the photos.

How horrible. An intelligent woman murdered and some low life drives the murder car. Sounds gang related to me too. Enjoy your life in prison low life car driver. What is wrong with people. The state of Texas has harsh gang related laws.

Did I read the news reports correctly that Cortes drove the car for $500 knowing that Dr. Hatcher was going to be murdered?

I'm curious as to why they haven't named the second person in the car, ie the shooter and IF he's in custody or not. Could this possibly have been a hit and they're looking for the person who paid the shooter?

    just curious,

Second woman questioned in Uptown Dallas dentist's murder

An ex-girlfriend of slain dentist Dr. Kendra Hatcher's boyfriend allegedly tracked Hatcher using an iPhone and paid an unnamed suspect $500 to bring her Hatcher's drivers license, according to affidavits for search warrants related to the case....The 33-year-old woman “ended a two year relationship with [Dr. Hatcher’s] current boyfriend earlier this year,”

Two days after the murder, police got a call from a man who had seen his 1996 Jeep Cherokee on news reports about the murder. He told investigators he has loaned his car to the ex-girlfriend of Hatcher's boyfriend. When police went to search the apartment of this second woman, they seized a notebook computer.

Cortez says she had conspired with the ex-girlfriend to drive the unknown suspect to rob Hatcher.

Unexplainable killing is starting to come together now.

That's what I read too. Kinda strange when she also says she was paid $500 to drive the car but nothing was taken. There must have been a lot of money in that console. Or something. Sounds pretty weird.

Too bad about the lovely dentist. What a tragic thing....to murder someone for money. There is no safe place anymore! :(

I don't believe the woman who drove the car. She knew he was going to kill her. She set it up with the doctor's b/fs ex.
IMHO, it's just a matter of time before the ex g/f is arrested, along with the shooter. Or, .............. who knows, maybe it was the ex g/f dressed as a man who shot the doctor.

    Terrible situation.
    No winner here.

I agree, Fran. How can you believe anyone who would do such a thing anyway. If they would do that they would for sure lie! And like I said...the $500 doesn't jell with the crime.

Police haven’t yet charged the unidentified 33-year-old woman, reportedly a dental hygienist, but they have interviewed her, searched her apartment and seized a notebook computer.
Police say Cortes admitted to conspiring with the ex-girlfriend in a plot to rob Hatcher, 35. Cortes allegedly told cops she was paid $500 to drive an unidentified male suspect to the parking garage in a borrowed jeep She then watched as the male shot and robbed Hatcher, before the pair fled.

Cortes also told police that the ex-girlfriend tracked Hatcher’s movements prior to the robbery attempt via an iPhone.

Brother: Crystal Cortes 'taking the fall' for doctor's murder

In this account CC's brother states the 2 women were friends & the ex GF was going to buy CC a car, had given her gifts. Motive appears clearly defined, that pretty dentist has my man. Time will tell who was the driver, who was the shooter, who was on the scene, what promises were made & how many years one or both will be a guest of the Lone Star State. It's beginning to appear a very lame-brained murder, don't these people watch crime tv shows?
