Man Accused Of Gunning Down Uptown Dentist Heads To Federal Court

DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) – The man accused of killing Uptown Dallas dentist Kendra Hatcher is preparing to head to federal court. Kristopher Love will go before U.S. Magistrate Judge Irma C. Ramirez this afternoon.

Investigators with the Dallas Police Department say Love is the gunman who murdered Kendra Hatcher. The 31-year-old was taken into FBI custody on Monday. The federal charge centers on him being a convicted felon and being in possession of a firearm – the same firearm used to kill Hatcher. Love was convicted of aggravated robbery in 2005 and not allowed to possess a gun.

I saw in an article, it could be the above one, not sure, that the day AFTER Kendra was murdered, she and her b/f were scheduled to go on an exotic vacation.

Dallas police didn't keep track of woman wanted in connection with Kendra Hatcher's death

Dallas police are defending their decision not to keep closer tabs on Brenda Delgado, the woman sought in the Sept. 2 slaying of Dallas dentist and former Pleasant Plains resident Kendra Hatcher, according to a Dallas newspaper report.

Delgado, 33, the ex-girlfriend of Hatcher's boyfriend, has been on the run for almost two weeks after being charged with murder in the shooting death of Hatcher, 35, in the parking garage of her apartment building.

Mexico extradites woman sought in Dallas dentist's killing

MEXICO CITY – A fugitive on the FBI's 10 Most Wanted list was extradited Thursday to Texas where she is accused of murder for the alleged contract-killing of her ex-boyfriend's new girlfriend, U.S. and Mexican officials said.

The FBI said in a statement that Brenda Delgado was returned in the evening to face a capital murder charge for allegedly arranging the murder of Dr. Kendra Hatcher, a 35-year-old dentist who was shot dead in the parking garage of her Dallas apartment complex in September 2015.

A statement from Mexican Attorney General's Office identified the suspect only as Brenda and said she was handed over to FBI agents at the Mexico City International Airport. A Mexican federal official who was not authorized to discuss the case publicly and spoke on condition of anonymity confirmed the woman was Delgado.

The FBI said she was escorted by agents to Dallas and then transferred to the custody of the city's police.

Delgado had fled the United States soon after investigators interviewed her about the killing, prompting a federal warrant for her arrest, according to the FBI.

Jury selection begins for trial connected to Dallas dentist's murder

Nearly three years after a Dallas dentist was killed in a murder-for-hire plot that captured national attention, jury selection is beginning in the first capital murder trial.

Kristopher Love, 33, will be the first suspect to face trial for Kendra Hatcher's murder. Love is the accused hit man in the murder for hire plot.

Police say Brenda Delgado, who used to date Hatcher's boyfriend, hired Love and Crystal Cortes to rob and murder the popular Dallas dentist. Investigators say Cortes drove the getaway vehicle.

Delgado, Love and Cortes are all charged with capital murder. Prosecutors are seeking the death penalty against Love.

Love's capital murder trial is set for early October.

Murder-for-hire suspect faces trial in plot against Dallas dentist slain in Uptown parking garage

A trial begins Monday for the suspected triggerman in a murder-for-hire plot that left a pediatric dentist dead in Uptown Dallas and made the woman accused of orchestrating the scheme an international fugitive.

Authorities say Kristopher Love was hired to rob Kendra Hatcher by Brenda Delgado, the jilted lover of the victim's boyfriend.

Love, 34, could face the death penalty if convicted of capital murder. Dallas County hasn't sent anyone to death row since 2013.

The suspect is likely the only person connected to Hatcher’s death who could face the death penalty.

That's because Delgado fled the country shortly after the slaying and was captured in Mexico in April 2016. She is not eligible for capital punishment as part of the extradition agreement with Mexico.

The suspected getaway driver, 26-year-old Crystal Cortes, is also charged with capital murder, but the Dallas County district attorney’s office has not filed to seek the death penalty in her case.

Texas man convicted in dentist’s death

A Dallas County jury has found a 34-year-old man guilty of capital murder in the 2015 shooting death of a pediatric dentist.

Jurors deliberated for less than three hours before finding Kristopher Love guilty Thursday in the death of 35-year-old Kendra Hatcher.

The punishment phase of Love's trial is scheduled to begin Monday.

Kristopher Love Guilty of Killing Dallas Dentist Kendra Hatcher in Murder-for-Hire Trial

A third person, suspected getaway driver who testified against Delgado and Love earlier this week, is also being held on a capital murder charge though she is expected to serve only 35 years after agreeing to testify.
