SWEET HOME - The Sweet Home Police Department is searching for a man who's been missing for nearly two weeks.

Leroy Henderson, 49, of 1451 53rd Ave. No. 4, was last seen by his girlfriend around 8:30 a.m. on Oct. 2. He borrowed a friend's car to run a few errands and was expected back within hours, according to a police report.

The borrowed vehicle, a maroon Ford Aspire, was discovered Friday near McDowell Creek Park.

The Linn County Sheriff's Office searched the area but didn't find Henderson.

Henderson is a diabetic dependent on insulin. He also takes medications for hypertension. His family doesn't think he took any medication with him.

Henderson is described as 5 feet 9 inches tall and approximately 180 pounds. He was last seen wearing a black T-shirt and blue jeans.

Police are asking anyone with information on Henderson's disappearance to contact them at 367-5181.

Leroy Henderson: Henderson isn’t a homicide case, but the circumstances in which he disappeared were concerning. He was reported missing on Oct. 6, 2008, and had been last seen on Oct. 2, 2008. He would be 53. Sweet Home Police Detective Cyndi Pichardo said that Henderson had relapsed into drug use was reportedly on his way to purchase drugs when he was last seen.
