Police have received more than 42,000 tips in investigation into murders of Delphi teens

Since releasing new information about the murders of Abby Williams and Libby German, police have received hundreds of new tips in the investigation.

Indiana State Police said the Multi-Agency Task Force investigating the case has received more than 2,200 emails and 400 calls. In addition, local police departments have received 135 calls and or walk-ins, police said.

In all, state police said they’ve received more than 42,000 tips since the creation of the email and tip line.

Despite the thousands of tips, their murders remain unsolved more than two years later.

If you have information about the case, no matter how insignificant you feel it might be, contact the task force via email at abbyandlibbytip@cacoshrf.com or by phone at 844-459-5786.

Police ask you to include the following information when submitting a tip:
    • Be specific as possible to a description
    • Name and age if possible
    • A connection to Delphi and that person’s location or address at this time
    • Leaving information on how we can contact you for possible clarification of your tip is helpful but not required
    • Tips can remain anonymous

Was on Good Morning America today...

Witness in Delphi double murder likely afraid to come forward, investigator says
It's been more than two years since young Abby Williams and Libby German were found dead in Delphi, Indiana, but investigators believe they're close to finding their killer.

"We are one tip away from success," Indiana State Police Superintendent Doug Carter told "Good Morning America" in an interview airing Wednesday.

Carter said his team has received more than 42,000 tips since friends Abby, 13, and Libby, 14, went missing in 2017.

The girls, both middle schoolers, vanished after going hiking at Delphi Historic Trails in Indiana on Feb. 13, 2017. Their bodies were found the next day about a half mile away from where they had been dropped off.

Authorities have not released information about how the girls died, but Carter said he believes the killer is hiding within the close-knit Delphi community. He said someone knows who the killer is but is afraid to come forward.

(MORE: Teens' unsolved killings are 'open wound' for grandfather on anniversary of mysterious deaths)
"If somebody knows something, they need to tell us. I think they're afraid too," he said. "Somebody knows who that person is."

Police issued a new sketch last month, showing a male suspect thought to be between 18 and 40 years old. Investigators had previously released a different composite sketch that was "based on a previous witness," according to Carter.

"Somebody that commits a horrific crime like this against two little girls probably has shown signs of violence in the past … he didn't just all of a sudden decide to do this one day," Carter said.

I hope they are looking at old cases of violence that have come to the attention of the PD and checking mugshots.

Read what he "allegedly" (cough cough cough cough ) did. Thank God his victim survived. If his actions aren't those of a stalking and dangerous predator, I don't know what is.

Since they release such little info and have changed the sketches, it could just as easily be this guy as any other, imo.
I know we all simply want this monster caught and justice served.

It seems like releasing more details to the public by now might hasten his capture.

I honestly don’t understand why they use polygraphs at all, if their results are so wishy washy and unable to even be used in court.

Police want to know if Etter is tied to Delphi killings

Paul Etter killed himself June 27 during a standoff and while surrounded by police officers on a county road north of Lebanon. Now his life is under a law enforcement microscope.

"His name has come up through the process," Carroll County Sheriff Tobe Leazenby said when asked Friday if detectives awee investigating to determine whether Etter is the killer of teenagers Libby German and Abby Williams.

Leazenby qualified his comment by noting that detectives have investigated every possible suspect, which is no different than their probe into Etter.

After Etter killed himself, Tippecanoe County Sheriff Bob Goldsmith said the case would remain open in order to complete the investigation and resolve unanswered questions.

Etter's case has not been closed yet, Tippecanoe County sheriff's Sgt. Thad Miller said, adding that they passed on information about Etter to Carroll County investigators as part of the routine police work. But he doubted that Etter is at the top of the list of possible suspects.

"We have shared information about Etter with them, but we've done that with other suspects, too," Miller said.

I'm waiting for the day when they find the killer. I hope this won't be one of those cases where it goes cold. Those girls need justice, and I believe there's enough evidence (the photo they took, the audio) to catch him soon.

Yep "Cuz" that's true. If someone has no Conscious, They feel no remorse. They are a tool for a suspect to show deception and lead L.E. in the right direction normally. Kind puts everything together in a case and trips people up.
