Authorities need help identifying child found in February in Beckham County

Authorities are asking for the public's help identifying a child who was found in late February in Beckham County.

Although he was found about five months ago in the town of Erick, Oklahoma, authorities do not know his name and no one has claimed him or have reported him missing. He has blonde hair and brown eyes, weighs 35 to 40 pounds and is between 2 feet, 10 inches tall and 3 feet, 2 inches tall, officials said.

Authorities have not said how old the boy is.

The child's information has been put into the National Missing and Unidentified Persons System. The database said his name might be Angel Damein Guzman.

This little guy has been unclaimed for more than 4 months!
Four months, and the first media article came out today. Four months, and no decent picture. Four months, and height and weight are only "estimates".

Was he abandoned? If so, thank you to his caregiver for not harming him. Might be helpful to know if he was found at a police station / hospital or the side of a road...
Are his parents/caregivers in trouble? Unable to report him missing or claim him? Drug use and don't care? Medical problem and unable? Being held?
Is he an otherwise missing child that "escaped" or wandered away and his abductors can't claim him, and his parents would have no reason to believe it's him?

    And now this....

Beckham County Sheriff Derek Manning said this evening that his office is investigating a case of a juvenile whose identity is in question, but the youth is not in danger, and the public should not be worried for his safety.

“Some reports came out earlier today - reports which were not released by our office - regarding a NAMUS entry that one of our deputies made regarding a juvenile we have recently come in contact with as a result of a different investigation,” Manning said.
“While we do have some questions regarding the juvenile’s true identity and how he came to be with the current family he is living with, we have no reason to believe that he is in any immediate danger.”

Sheriff Manning said DHS is aware of the situation and they are working with Beckham County detectives on the matter.

“There may be nothing nefarious about the situation at all,” Manning said. “There are simply some discrepancies that caught the attention of our detectives, and we are looking further into it.”

“While I dislike being this vague about the information surrounding the case, and I know the lack of further information may be dissatisfying to some people, our ultimate goal is to protect this juvenile,” Manning said. “I can only stress that the child is being cared for and does not appear to be in any sort of dangerous situation.”

Just rumors but there is one woman commenting on Facebook indicating that Angel's mom is in jail and he is with her. His identity is well known and he is safe.

Well, it seems like it would be simple enough to find his mom anxieties her if she's in jail, wouldn't it? Sheesh. Did they do any actual investigating on this?

Amazing how much harder they'll work when there's a frenzy on social media. It's been an issue since February. It blows up to the public yesterday, and they got the situation figured out today.
Still have no idea why he was entered into NamUs.

The Beckham County Sheriff’s Office said this morning that they had located documents which confirmed the correct identity of a juvenile earlier entered in NAMUS. Sheriff Derek Manning said the documentation shows that the child is currently in the custody of a person who has been given responsibility to care for the child.

“It is a rather convoluted set of circumstances, but this three-year-old is being cared for in a safe place, and we are satisfied that the circumstances through which he came to be with this family are legitimate,” Manning said.
