PARIS, Tenn. — Police said a woman has been missing since Tuesday, and they’re hoping the public can help them locate 50-year old Melissa Crane.

Officials said she was reported missing by her son, who told officials he hadn’t heard from her since March 1st.

Police said Crane may be driving a maroon or red 1998 Ford Taurus, with tag number 5DD-1932. Anyone with information is asked to call Paris Police.

Paris woman missing for three weeks now facing theft charges

Paris Police officers are still searching for a missing Paris woman, who is now wanted on a felony theft charge.

On Monday, Paris Police officers, who are still searching for Crane as part of a missing persons investigation, filed warrants for theft of property of more than $500 but less than $10,000.

Officers are still actively seeking Crane’s location to determine her safety, and to serve the arrest warrants.

According to a bunch of negative gossip on Topix, Melissa is still missing.

The possibility of foul play should not be dismissed even though an impeding warrant was out for her. She could be anywhere.

I agree. There isn't much on the internet about her and she really does need to be found.

PARIS TN: Body found in lake may be missing Paris woman

The body of a Paris woman who had been missing for more than two years apparently was found Wednesday inside a vehicle submerged in Kentucky Lake.

Melissa Crane, who had been missing since March 2016, is believed to be the identity of the woman’s body inside a maroon 1998 Ford Taurus that was discovered by divers on the north side of the Ned Ray McWherter Bridge at Kentucky Lake, on the Stewart County side.

The Stewart County Sheriff’s Department contacted the PPD Wednesday, notifying it that a fisherman had called in a report on Tuesday saying he had seen what he thought was a car in Kentucky Lake while he was fishing.

Stewart County officials sent divers to the scene Wednesday, in the Grays Landing area on the north side of the bridge.

The divers found the car, which was the same car officers had been searching for since Crane was reported missing. The vehicle was about 50 yards from the shoreline in about 9 or 10 feet of water.

Upon pulling the car out of the water, divers and officers found a woman’s body inside it.

The vehicle was taken into evidence and the body will be sent to the medical examiner’s office in Nashville for an autopsy and to determine if it is indeed Crane.

Sure is. :( I wonder if this was near the bridge that some said she might have jumped from?
