Another family violence. This is developing story - sounds like murder-suicide.

SOLON TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — Three children and a woman were found dead of apparent gunshot wounds a home in rural northern Kent County Monday afternoon, but authorities don't think that's where the children were shot. The kids were elementary school-aged and younger.

The sheriff would not provide further information about the victims' relationships to one another. She said her department was still confirming their identities. The agency should release names after autopsies are conducted.

Sheriff Michelle LaJoye-Young s said search of the property indicated there's a second crime scene where at least some of the shootings may have happened, but they don't know where that scene is.

Family members identified the children as sisters Alaina, 2; Cassidy, 6; and Kyrie, 8; and their mother as Aubrianne Moore, 28. Moore had a history of mental illness and spent time in a mental hospital last year. Loved ones said they wished she could have gotten more help. They asked others not to make judgments about her, saying she was sick.

"They were awesome kids, absolutely great. The oldest excelled in reading like no other. The youngest one, she was just so joyful and so happy all the time. And then the middle child, she was just rambunctious and wild and always put a smile on everybody's face," Alyssa Rau, cousin of the youngest victim, said.

Michigan mom picked kids up for fake appointment, killed them

A Cedar Springs mother picked up her children from school for a fake doctor's appointment before leading them one by one into the woods and killing them with a hunting rifle, according to WXMI (Fox 17).

According to WLNS, Moore had a history of mental illness and a social worker filed paperwork last September to have her committed.

The petition filed in Newaygo probate court said Moore was dangerous and a clinical certificate filed the same day said she had been diagnosed with "unspecified schizophrenia," the station reported.
