Witnesses said they saw the girl loading clothes into a blue pickup driven by a white male. Her mother and stepfather never reported her missing because they said they thought she’d run away. Monique’s parents told police they received two letters and a phone call from their daughter. However, in time, Monique’s younger sister would confess that her stepfather made her write the letters and the phone call was a hoax.

Unfortunately, some mothers choose to stand by their man, instead.

I understand believing Monique ran away initially, but after the deception was disclosed, it became a brand new ballgame. The notes to her friends seemed very child-like & yet, we are to believe she took off with a guy. If she was more experienced than portrayed in the notes, was fearful about being pregnant & ran away, why wouldn't she contact her sister? Nothing adds up & the trail couldn't be colder now.

I wonder who the neighbor is that seen her loading clothes into a truck? Did stepdad concoct that story as a reason for him suspecting she ran away? By the time LE woukd have questioned a neighbor/witness, it was over a year later. Is there any way at all that some random neighbor could remember a specific day they had seen this? Unless, of course, the neighbor had something very specific happen....like they were in labor and had to wait for this truck to move in order to go to the hospital or something substantial like that.

Monique's "In Memory" Facebook page that is ran by her sister.

There are people on there that knew the family back when the children were small that remember abuse and bruises. Even some comments about having called DHS on the parents, but nothing was ever done

I see her sister has been at it on Facebook for a few years now. Glad she's finally getting some media recognition! I pray it will help! It's also nice to see some people posting about Monique who knew her back then.

Thank you for finding the Facebook page @WindStorm!

    Girl's Stepdad Offered Test

    Oklahoman Published: February 27, 1994

MOORE (AP) - An Air Force sergeant may take a polygraph test concerning the disappearance of his stepdaughter, Monique Daniels, more than 1 1/2 years ago, authorities said.

Sgt. Charles Daniels has been "offered" a polygraph in an attempt to gain more insight into the vanishing act by the girl, then 15, Moore Police Chief Bruce Storm said.

Storm told Oklahoma City radio station KTOK he would not comment on whether the offer had been accepted, but he did say such tests were not uncommon in this type of case.

Monique Daniels turned up missing June 2, 1992, but was not reported missing at first. Her mother, Candyce Daniels, and stepfather said they had received two letters and a telephone call from the girl and believed she had run away.

However, Monique's younger sister, Angie Daniels, told the Moore American the stepfather made her write the two letters. The paper also reported the younger Daniels, who ran away to an aunt's house in Michigan last month, as saying the phone call was also fake. BIOG: NAME:

    Crime Stoppers
    of Moore and Cleveland County

Monique Daniels was last observed by witnesses on June 2, 1992 in Moore, Oklahoma. Witnesses observed Monique loading clothes into a blue Chevrolet pickup truck driven by an unidentified white male. To date she has not been located.

Monique lived with her mother and stepfather in 1992. They did not report her as a missing person because they believed she had run away from home. Relatives reported her disappearance to police in January 1994, eighteen months after she was last seen.

Monique's parents stated they had received two letters and one telephone call from her after her disappearance, supporting their theory that she had ran away. However, Monique's younger sister stated her stepfather made her write the letters and the phone call was also a hoax.

Anyone with information about Monique please contact Crime Stoppers of Moore at (405) 793-5160 or online at www.moorecrimetips.com. You can remain anonymous and the information you provide could lead to a reward.
