The Laredo Police Department is asking the community for assistance in locating a woman who was last seen in the downtown area with a male.

Authorities identified her as Myriam Camarillo, 27.

She was last seen at about 2 a.m. July 7 at an establishment in the 1300 block of Iturbide Street. She was wearing a black top, black skirt and white checkered shoes. She also had a red purse, according to police.

Camarillo has long black hair, brown eyes and is dark skin toned. She has a tattoo of a red and black butterfly with skulls inside the wings on her right shoulder.

Surveillance footage from the establishment shows Camarillo with a male.

Police are also looking for the male for identification purposes. On Wednesday, authorities released images of the Camarillo and the man in hopes of obtaining answers.

LPD IDs man last seen with missing Laredo woman at downtown bar

Laredo police have identified the individual last seen with a woman who was reported missing over the weekend.

"We want to thank you the community for giving us the information about his identity. We did receive several responses," said Investigator Joe E. Baeza, LPD spokesman, on Thursday.

The male has spoken to investigators and is cooperating with them on the disappearance of Myriam Camarillo, 27, according to police.

"There is still nothing concrete or evidence that there is some sort of foul play involved. We're just concerned of Camarillo's well-being and location," Baeza said.

Missing Laredo woman found dead, suspect arrested

The search for a missing woman in Laredo has turned tragic.

Authorities said they discovered the body of 27-year-old Myriam Camarillo inside a home in the 100 block of St. Pierre Lane in the Dellwood Park neighborhood in the Mines Road area.

Late Friday, the Missing Persons Unit investigators were following up leads and discovered the body inside the residence.

Police then confirmed it was Camarillo.

An investigation revealed that Camarillo had been accompanied by a male identified as Joseph Steven Carrizales, 26, at the residence prior to her death.

Carrizales was arrested and charged with tampering, fabricating physical evidence.

The Webb County Medical Examiner's office took custody of the body to determine the cause of death.

One month later, questions still linger over Myriam Camarillo’s death

It’s been exactly one month since Myriam Camarillo’s body was discovered inside a west Laredo home, a discovery that shocked the community.

Since the discovery, the Laredo Police Department has made one arrest in connection to her death; however, the question remains into the exact cause of her death.

According to the affidavit, Carrizales says the two started doing drugs and waited for a rideshare service to pick them up.

When they both arrived at Carrizales’ home on Saint Pierre, the two continued to do drugs, had sexual relations and fell asleep.

When Carrizales awoke the next day, he found Myriam unresponsive.

Authorities say he panicked, fled towards the Rio Grande and swam into Mexico.

He was later taken into custody with the help of the FBI, U.S. Marshals, Border Patrol, and Mexican authorities.

He was arrested and charged with tampering with evidence but still no one has been charged directly with her death.

Police say they are still waiting for the final autopsy results as more charges could be pending.

During the death investigations such as Myriam’s, toxicology and forensic exams could take months to come back with the results.
