Jane Doe is believed to have been between the ages of 20 and 25 when she died. Her partial skeleton was found in the Nome County Courthouse. There is little information available in her case. It is unclear how long Jane's remains were in the courthouse before being discovered.

Actually, TWO women's remains were found inside a courthouse!

    This is really strange.

I created threads for both of them. They were both identified as being Native American. One was 20-25 years old. The other was 13-17 years old. How does a Medical Examiner lose two victims in the morgue?

I hope very much their ethnicity has nothing to do with this apparent carelessness.

I think it's probably more likely that Nome, Alaska is not a progressive location and maybe their law enforcement techniques aren't the best. The remains of those two women could have been stashed in a box somewhere for years and years. It's as bad as the Sheriff throwing the remains and evidence into the Tacoma landfill. I'm glad that DNA and current investigation procedures are making some of these agencies be more careful with the chain of evidence.
