    Windermere police trying to identify women in photos

    <removed image>

    The Windermere Police Department is asking for the public’s help in identifying several women, some of whom may no longer be alive.

    Windermere police said they want to check on their safety and well-being.

    “Keep in mind these women are potentially victims, unwitting or unknowing that they’re victims. If you're give some type of alcohol or substance and you fall asleep or you're passed out, certainly one could take advantage of these women," explained James Copenhaver, who now works in Central Florida as a private investigator.

    Police did not say why they are looking for the women but said the photos were taken before 2011. They think the women are from the Central Florida area. Ogden said the department has been investigating the case since 2012.

    Do you know any of these women? Police release images of sleeping and unconscious women found on chilling videos at home of suspected serial rapist

    Police in Florida have released images of multiple women who appear to be sleeping or passed out and could be victims of possible sexual assaults.

    The Windermere Police Department are hoping the public can identify the women, who were all seen in videos they found earlier this year while searching the home of Darryl Patterson.

    Patterson had been accused by a woman of trying to sexually assault her, and another woman came forward making similar allegations soon after.

    The search happened in May, and still police have had no luck identifying the women so now need the public's help.

    You are right, a couple of the women have what looks like strangulation marks around their neck. This is all beyond disturbing.

    We want to thank everyone for assisting us in publishing the photos to the public. At this time we have identified several of the women in the photographs released yesterday. I have removed them from my Facebook site. The WPD will not be identifying these women and we are moving forward with an open investigation. Those women are safe at this time.

    Out of courtesy for the women identified we ask that you remove those photos and bulletins from your social networking sites that we provided you yesterday and refer to this page for updated accruate information.

    We are still looking to identify the remaining women and anyone with information regarding the identity of any of these woman please contact Detective John Allen of the Windermere Police Department at:

    Detective John Allen: Jallen@town.windermere.fl.us
    Windermere Police Department: 407-876-3757

    Last, as a reminder please contact us directly and DO NOT attempt to identify someone on social networking.

    I just read that one of the women in a photo that was removed was, possibly, of Laura Nimbach. Her sister said they are awaiting confirmation that it is, in fact, her and that she is...in fact safe. Laura has been missing since 2009 and has an open MP case with Pinnelas County and NAMUS.

    Why would they think she's safe if it's indeed her?
