CA QUARTZ HILL JANE DOE: WF, 17-23, found in creekbed - 3 March 1981 - Named Cathy?

    • The victim was discovered on March 3, 1981 in Quartz Hill, Los Angeles County, California
    • Estimated Date of Death: 2 months-2 years prior

    Vital Statistics

    • Estimated age: 17-23 years old
    • Approximate Height and Weight: 5'2-5'5"
    • Distinguishing Characteristics: High forehead; small boned, slight build.
    • Clothing: Possibly maroon sweater type dress, with a white bolero jacket over it. Little red hearts or flowers on the dress. White cowboy boots. (Clothing described by suspects, none located.)
    • Dentals: Available. Lower right side molar missing; upper left side molar missing. Slight overbite.
    • Other: Possible name "Cathy".

    Case History
    The victim was located 9/10 of a mile East of Bouquet Canyon Road, on Artesian Springs Road, Quartz Hill, CA.
    She is a victim of the Sunset Murders.The suspects picked the victim up near the intersection of Highland and Franklin streets, in Hollywood, CA. She said her name was Cathy.
    The victim was shot, and the remains found strewn along a riverbed in a very remote area.

    No pictures , even reconstructs of the victim.
    Extremely sad. Very difficult to solve cases without a face to the victim.

    Is there any way / any one that someone can petition to have a reconstruction / recreation done?
    This poor girl.. not only does she not have a name, but she doesn't have a face!

    The problems are time and funding. Those who do the reconstructions are not always paid & need to make a living. :( Those who are paid have a backlog of recons to have done. Let me dig around some more and see if any volunteers have done one yet.

    I would think they could release some type of visual I.D.
    Or at least they should.

    IT'S "LACK OF GOVERNMENT FUNDING"!!!! SHAMEFUL!!! NO EXCUSE !!! IT IS THEIR "DUTY" TO PROVIDE ANY AND ALL FUNDING TO RUN TESTS ETC. TO SOLVE CRIMES OR IDENTIFY ALL OF IT'S "CITIZENS"! BUT THEY ARE MORE IMPORTANT! AND THEIR COUNTRY CLUBS, GOLF COURSES, $20,000 VACATIONS, MULTIPLE "HOMES" AND "VACATION HOMES". :mad::gaah:
