    René Hasée - MISSING

Almost 17 years ago a young family from Sindelsdorf, Germany, went on holiday to the Portuguese Algarve in their motor home. One day after having eaten they walked down to the beach, René was about 20 feet ahead and suddenly he was gone! They searched for him but in vain. The local police were immediately informed but no trace of René was ever found.

Neither Interpol nor the German police were able to help the desperate parents. To date, Anita and Peter go once a year to the Algarve, to search for her son. René would be 23 years old now. René's grandmother Irmgard: "My daughter still dreams of René."

His mother Anita: "We had eaten something and strolled to the beach." René walked twenty meters before his parents. "Suddenly our boy had disappeared from the ground."
Immediately the parents informed the local police. Mother Anita: "The officials have only recorded the ad. They did not even look for our boy. "

Neither Interpol nor the German police could help the desperate parents. To this day Anita and Peter drive once a year to the Algarve to look for their son. René would be 20 years old today. René's grandmother Irmgard: "My daughter still dreams of René."

    Information at a glance:
    Date of birth: 1990
    Location: Bergheim-Elsdorf
    Missing since: 19.06.1996
    Last location: Aljezur / Portugal

    Germany will find you!
1500 children are regarded as permanently missing in Germany

The little René (6) Luz 15 years ago disappeared in Aljezur, 33 kilometers from Praia da - the Portuguese resort where in 2007 Maddie McCann (3) disappeared.

The whole world spoke about the little Briton. Much has been written, much speculated: Abducted? Abducted? Or was it the parents? The disappearance of René was a topic only in his hometown Elsdorf (NRW), and there is only one theory that everyone believes:

    René was abducted.

René's grandparents also think of this since her daughter Anita (today 41) and her friend, then René, drove to the summer holiday in 1996 - and without him came back. It was June 21st, the beginning of the summer, when Anita called. "Mother, the boy is gone," she cried in the receiver.

    Away? Just go away?

"She said they had been on the beach, René had still eaten squids and fries, wanted to go to the water," says Irmgard Burbach. "He took off his shirt and trousers, played in the sand, my daughter could see him all the time. When she came to him and went downstairs from the restaurant, she lost him briefly. And then suddenly there were only his clothes. "

Franz Burbach immediately got into the car, drove to Portugal. René had always been "his" boy, almost every afternoon the boy had spent time with grandma and grandpa.

With his daughter the Grandpa hung hundreds of posters. Interrogated witnesses on the beach. Dredged divers. He struggled with the police, who stopped searching for a few days.

"They said Anita would not have taken care, René would have drowned," recalls Oma Irmgard. "But he was terrified of the waves, would never have gone to sea alone. Besides, his footprints stopped in the middle of the sand. "

The nightmare, at home, he became even worse.

Mother Anita could no longer work, no longer love. The postbot was taken ill, later her relationship broke.

Grandma Irmgard suffered a nervous breakdown, did not leave the house for two years.

Grandpa Franz had five strokes, three heart attacks. The stucker can hardly speak. And actually he does not want anymore.

In May 2007, hope arose briefly. "We thought we'd be taken seriously by Maddie's disappearance," says Irmgard Burbach. The investigators, however, focused on Maddie, nobody asked for René. Not once did the police report to the Burbach.

What remains is sad: Christmas is no longer Christmas, the Christmas tree reminds too much of René. Easter is no longer Easter, the egg tasting reminds too much of René. Actually, every celebration that you must be happy with, remembers too much René.

Family Burbach has nothing to celebrate.

Every summer Anita is still driving to Portugal, traces of old traces. The rest of the year, she tries to endure her life. She has retired, lets her parents speak for her.

They say their daughter lives only for her second son, whom she had three years after René's disappearance: Guido, today 12. "A dear boy," says Grandma, "but not our Mupsi."

René has always got spinach with Mettbällchen from his grandma. "Guido has no favorite food, he does not eat so often with us."

René could count on before he came to school. "Guido finds it hard to concentrate."

René's picture is hanging in every room. "We do not need photos from Guido. We know what he looks like. "

Guido does not have it easy. The Burbachs prefer to talk about René.

There are a few memories that make Grandma and Grandpa Burbach smile, before both cry again. One of those:

April 1996, two months before his disappearance. René wore his colorful slippers, came to his grandmother's kitchen, took her tightly in the arm. "Omi, when you are old," he said, "then I care for you. Promised.'"

The missing boy who time forgot

    http://www.portugalresident.com/port...SUPPLEMENT.pdf

Renè Hasèe, who was six, disappeared
    from the Amoreira beach near
    Aljezur on June 19, 1996.

As with any other missing children
cases, the file on Renè was sent to the
Polícia Judiciária, said a GNR spokesman.
    But the Lisbon headquarters of
the criminal police have no record of
    Renè Hasèe.

    “The missing people’s database in
digital format goes back to 1996,”, said the
spokesman. “The name is not registered
on the computer database and we have
not found it in the paper entries.”
