Son-in-Law arrested then commits suicide in jail:
A man accused of killing his mother-in-law and beating and choking his frail, estranged wife was found dead in his cell at the Pima County jail on Wednesday, authorities said.

Norman Schrank III, 43, was found unresponsive around 4 a.m. by corrections staff doing their rounds, the Pima County Sheriff’s Department said in a news release.
“Homicide detectives responded to the jail and determined the death was a suicide,” the news release said.

Schrank had been in custody on a $2 million bond since last week and was facing charges of first-degree murder and abandoning or c
oncealing a dead body in the death of his wife’s mother, 65-year-old Sachiko McClurg.

Another news story on the case:

TUCSON, Ariz. - Earlier this month, 65-year-old Sachiko McClurg and her daughter, Jeni McClurg were reported missing.

Police say Jeni's estranged husband, Norman Schrank, abducted the women on May 1 and drove them to Pine, Arizona, three hours north of Tucson.

Authorities found Jeni McClurg alive not long afterward, but her mother is still missing and believed to be dead.

Jeni was found alive? Doesn't she have any ideas of what he did with her mother?

    I'm missing something.

TUCSON – It was a year ago this month when Sachiko McClurg and her daughter Jeni were kidnapped by her daughter’s estranged husband. Jeni was rescued, Sachiko has never been found. Detectives said they believe she is buried somewhere in the desert between a 90 mile stretch of road between Mesa and Oro Valley.

When Gila County authorities rescued Jeni there were so signs of her mother.

Detective Siress said he questioned Jeni, but she could only give him limited information. Due to her illness, she has lost her eyesight. She did tell him she remembered traveling on gravel roads, and Schrank stopping the car sometimes and moving items around the vehicle. However, she was unable to give street signs or directions.
