Family pleads for safe return of missing Lancaster teen Shavon Randle

Shavon Randle has dozens of friends who gathered Wednesday evening to hold hands and pray for her safe return. Loved ones say the one thing the 13-year-old doesn’t have is enemies.

"I just know she’s missing, and we haven’t heard anything for hours," said her aunt, Latoya Randle.

Meanwhile, tears fell back at the place the teen was last seen. Police say sometime Wednesday morning, Shavon disappeared from the home of another aunt and uncle, where she's living off Southridge Drive.

Kidnapper Uses Missing Teen’s Phone To Contact Her Parents, Threatens To ‘Harm Her’

Texas police say a missing girl’s parents received a disturbing phone call after her disappearance, indicating the 13-year-old could be in grave danger.

An unknown caller contacted Shavon Le’Faye Randle’s parents twice on Wednesday, Sgt. Eric Alexander, of the Lancaster Police Department, told HuffPost.

The caller indicated he had Shavon and told her family he would “harm her” if they contacted police, Alexander said.

At least one of the calls was placed from the teen’s cellphone, which is also missing. There has been no word on her since.

Shavon’s parents received the first call from their child’s alleged kidnapper at about 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, police said. They received a second call shortly thereafter.

The girl’s cellphone is no longer on, but police say they were able to trace its location on Wednesday and are working to obtain surveillance footage from areas of interest.

The suspect was possibly driving a white four-door sedan with damage or a dark paint transfer on the rear passenger-side quarter panel, according to police.

Due to the circumstances of the case, authorities presume Shavon has been abducted. Police have issued an Amber Alert and relayed information about the case to the media in hopes of generating leads.

Authorities have not speculated on a possible motive.

“Somebody took a sweet innocent little girl that hasn’t done anything to anybody and is threatening her,” Shavon’s aunt, Latoya Randle, told WFAA News.

“Whatever it is you want, she doesn’t have it,” Randle said. “I mean, we’re a big family, but we don’t have much, but we want Shavon back. We have to have Shavon back.”

DALLAS (CBSDFW) – A 13-year-old Lancaster girl who was the subject of an Amber Alert was found dead in Dallas along with the body of an unidentified man, the FBI said Sunday.

The bodies of Shavon Randle and the other victim were discovered late Saturday night at a house near Kiest Boulevard and Sunnyvale Street in East Oak Cliff.

Authorities were checking that home after receiving a tip, said Eric Jackson, special agent in charge of the Dallas office of the FBI.

“We didn’t have the positive result we were looking for,” Jackson said. “But being able to let Shavon’s family know that we’ve located her was our goal.”

The FBI said its investigation was continuing.

“Anyone that we find that were involved in this heinous crime against Shavon we will bring you to justice, and we will hold you accountable,” Jackson said.

Family members of the kidnapped teen were on the scene shortly after police and federal agents.

A large crime scene area was taped off, and Dallas Police were brought in to help block off streets.

Randle was reported kidnapped last week and an Amber Alert issued soon thereafter.

The State of Texas officially canceled the Amber Alert Sunday morning.

Four suspects have been arrested or detained, but the fate of the girl was not known until early this morning.

This is a developing story. Stay with CBS 11 News and CBSDFW.com for the latest updates.

Lancaster girl was kidnapped, killed over stolen drugs

Two days before Shavon was reported missing, Kendall Perkins stole a large quantity of drugs from Darius Fields and Devontae Owens at a Motel 6 in Lancaster, according to an arrest warrant affidavit.

Perkins, 22, was arrested Saturday and charged with aggravated robbery. He is the boyfriend of Ledoris Randle, a relative of Shavon's. Randle on Wednesday received a call from an unknown man who said Shavon was being held against her will and threatened to harm her if law enforcement was called, police said.

Randle said the caller told her to "give us our [expletive] back or we are going to kill her," police documents stated.

    Kendall Perkins
An informant told an FBI agent that a man later identified as Owens told her he planned to kidnap a child to get back the drugs that were stolen from him, the affidavit stated.

Cellphone analysis placed Owens near Shavon's home and had the two cellphones heading in the same direction until Shavon's phone was shut off.

On Saturday, Lancaster police and FBI agents arrested Owens and Laquon Wilkerson. Owens, 24, is charged with aggravated kidnapping. Wilkerson, 30, is facing an aggravated kidnapping for ransom/reward charge. Polley was charged with tampering with evidence and a drug possession charge. Her bail was set at $600,500. Fields, who was convicted of theft in Tarrant County in 2012, was charged with drug possession and unlawful possession of a firearm. His bail was set at $100,500.

According to some news story comments & posts on Facebook that we cannot get into here, Titus & his mother had called in tips. (That is what I understood from the video of her at the death scene.) A large circle of people knew about the stolen drugs & threats that followed because much of it was played out on Facebook.

Murdering drug thugs. What can we do to turn this around?
