Jacksonville police: Missing woman, 23, endangered
    Posted Oct 14, 2009 at 1:00 PM

A 23-year-old Jacksonville woman has been missing since Sept. 11 and may be a victim of foul play, the Sheriff’s Office said today in releasing a photo of Shirlene Roberts.

Police were called to the 4500 block of Notter Avenue on Sept. 23 about her disappearance being out of character.

Her aunt said she was last seen leaving her house there between 4 and 5 p.m. Sept. 11. She said Roberts was angry that she had been scolded for smoking marijuana.

Roberts is known to frequent the 2800 block of Pearl Street. She also worked as a dancer at “The Pony” bikini club on McDuff Avenue where she also hasn’t been seen since leaving with a patron known for carrying guns and selling drugs, according to a Sheriff’s Office missing-person report.

The Sheriff’s Office said she is believed to be endangered.

Anyone with information can contact the Sheriff’s Office at (904) 630-0500 or First Coast Crime Stoppers at (866) 845-8477 (845-TIPS) to remain anonymous and be eligible for rewards. Or e-mail JSOCrimeTips@jaxsheriff.org or rewards@fccrimestoppers.com

Roberts was last seen after leaving her home in the 4500 block of Notter Avenue in Jacksonville, Florida. Her aunt scolded her because she had been smoking marijuana, and Roberts left the house angrily between 4:00 and 5:00 p.m. on September 11, 2009. An unknown male pulled her into a vehicle and she has never been heard from again.

Roberts has been known to frequent the 2800 block of Pearl Street. She worked as a dancer at The Pony, a bikini club on McDuff Avenue, and the last time she was seen there, she left with a patron who had a reputation for carrying guns and selling drugs.
