Boyfriend named as suspect in Stephanie Warner's disappearance

Two years after Stephanie Warner's disappearance, Jackson County Sheriff's Department detectives now believe the Applegate woman is dead and that her boyfriend knows the location of her body.

Detectives have identified 62-year-old Lennie Ames, her boyfriend at the time of her disappearance on July 4, 2013, as a suspect but no charges yet have been filed. Investigators say their suspicions are based on physical evidence they have collected and alleged inconsistencies in Ames' statements about Warner's whereabouts.

    [snip]

Investigators believe Ames is in Georgia, but they haven't been able to get in touch with him for about a year. What led to Warner's death remains unclear.

Moultrian is suspect in missing persons case

A Moultrie [Georgia] man has been named as the prime suspect in the disappearance of an Oregon woman who was last seen two years ago and is presumed dead.

Police said that their investigation has turned up physical evidence indicating that Warner is dead, and that they believe Ames knows the location of her remains. He has not disclosed the location of Warner’s remains and is not cooperating with law enforcement at this time.

Henderson said that no arrest warrant had been issued yet for Ames.

The last time anyone saw Stephanie Anne Warner, 43, was on July 4, 2013, when she and her boyfriend, Lennie Ames, left a convenience store outside Ashland, Oregon before heading to her home in Ruch. The two had been at a 4th of July parade in which Stephanie was seen walking alongside a float she had helped create. In July of 2015, the Jackson County Sheriff's Office officially named Ames a suspect in Stephanie's disappearance, releasing a statement saying, "the information gathered thus far indicates Warner is deceased and Lennie Ames was responsible for her death." Stephanie's body has not been found. If you have any information about Stephanie, please contact the Jackson County Sheriff's Office at (541) 774-8333.

CRIME STOPPERS: Third Anniversary of Warner's Disappearance

As the nation celebrates independence on Monday, many will remember the disappearance of a local woman.

"We really want the public's help in finding out anything about the case that might be out there that we haven't heard yet. So, I encourage everybody to call in with any information they might have in the case that might help us in solving this," Jackson County Sheriff's Office detective, Eric Henderson, said.

Detectives named Ames as the main suspect last year in the disappearance of Warner.

Depending on the case and information given, Rogue Credit Union will pay you up to $1000 for information leading to an arrest and filing of charges.

This is one of those cases where we need a miracle to find her in that woody rural area. :( And the suspect just gets to live his life like nothing ever happened!

I remember when she first went missing, there was talk of her leaving town on her own. It didn't take long before the bf became suspicious to some. I pray she will be found.

Ruch woman still missing four years after disappearance

Another year has gone by, and Warner hasn’t been found.

Her sister, Sharon Lambert, said, “When someone passes away and the day of their death is always a hard thing, but in the case with this, we have no closure, so it’s sort of like that, but it’s even harder. ”

Lambert hasn’t forgotten her sister. Police are working to make sure you don’t, either.

“This case is not closed, it’s not going to be over with anytime soon, we’re going to see this through.” Detective Henderson said. “We’re going to make an arrest, and do the right thing, and tell us where she’s at.”

Fourth of July marks five years since Ruch woman has disappeared

July 4th marks five years since a Ruch woman had been reported missing.

Stephanie Warner disappeared five years ago and her sister, Sharon Lambert, says as time goes on it's only getting worse for the entire family.

Detectives say there hasn't been enough evidence to be able to justify an arrest.

For Lambert, the anniversary is an emotional time and she's hoping more people have information.

"The more that time goes by and you don't have the questions answered, you don't know where she is, there's no closure, it just makes it harder with every passing day that goes by and we have no idea what happened to her," Lambert said.

Warner is originally from Louisiana, but she lived in Oregon for at least five years.

The sheriff's office says the case is still open.
