Father And Son Duo Arrested For Murder Of Missing Kellyville Woman
    Posted: May 03, 2013 10:09 PM EDT

    CREEK COUNTY, Oklahoma -

A father and son are in custody have been arrested in connection with the disappearance of Tina Brashear, who went missing more than two years ago.

James Alan “Jimmy” Alexander, 49, is being held on a first-degree murder complaint, and his father Jack Alexander, 84, is being held for accessory to murder.

Tina Brashear hasn't been seen in two years, one month and two days.

Her family says the last time anyone saw Tina she was with her boyfriend, Jimmy Alexander.

Court documents say the night Tina went missing, the two had been drinking at Jimmy's house in Kellyville and arguing about Tina having Jimmy arrested for domestic assault.

At the time, her boyfriend told detectives he didn't remember being with Tina on April first because when he drinks he gets foggy.

The affidavit says few months after Tina disappeared, a friend told investigators that Alexander once said "he had gotten rid of that girl and he thought he hid the body good."

Documents say Jimmy also asked friends what they would think if he dismembered her, then said "here it goes, I did it. I am sorry I am so sad."

He was reportedly intoxicated at the time of the conversations.

But fast forward to this April - that's when a family friend called investigators.

Court documents show that man told detectives he was at Jimmy's house the day after Tina went missing.

He said there was blood everywhere and metal rod that had blood and hair all over it.

The tipster told detectives that Jimmy's father Jack said his son beat Tina to death, but hadn't told anyone because he didn't want to lose another son.

According to the documents, one of Jack's sons was in prison for murder, and the other had just died.

The affidavit says the tipster discovered a fresh, hand dug grave in a private cemetery behind Jimmy's house, about two months after Tina vanished.

There was reportedly a marker with Jimmy's brother Robert's name on the grave, but court documents show Robert was cremated in 2010.

At this point, Tina's body has not been recovered.

    Tina left three children behind.

Her mother and brother said the last two years have been devastating for the family, but they're hopeful she'll be found soon.

Death of jailed Tulsa murder suspect under investigation
He was taken to a hospital after he was ill in his cell, and he died three days later.
    • SUSAN HYLTON World Staff Writer
    • Jun 1, 2013

CUTLINES dead . - SAPULPA - The state is investigating the death of a jailed Tulsa man who was charged this month with killing his girlfriend two years ago.

The Creek County Sheriff's Office asked the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation to investigate a suspicious injury to James Alan "Jimmy" Alexander on May 14, OSBI spokeswoman Jessica Brown said.

Brown said Alexander was vomiting in his jail cell that day and was taken to St. John Medical Center in Tulsa, where he died three days later, on May 17.

"We're waiting on the autopsy to find out what the cause is," Brown said.

Alexander, 49, had been in jail since May 3. He was charged May 2 with first-degree murder in the death of Tina Brashear, 38, whose brother had reported her missing from Kellyville on May 4, 2011.

A witness told authorities in April that Alexander's father, Jack Alexander, had told him that Jimmy Alexander beat Brashear with a metal rod until she died, according to an affidavit filed in the case.

The witness reported that Jimmy Alexander might also have shot her, saying the father had asked the witness to get rid of a handgun.

Jack Alexander, 84, reportedly did not turn in his son because he already had one son who had died and another who was in prison and didn't want to lose another son, records state.

Jack Alexander is charged with accessory to first-degree murder on an allegation that he helped his son conceal Brashear's body. He is set to be arraigned June 28.

The homicide is alleged to have happened when the couple were drinking and got into an argument about Brashear's previously having Alexander arrested for assaulting her.

According to the affidavit, Brashear's body is believed to have been buried in a hand-dug grave in a cemetery behind Jimmy Alexander's house, but authorities have not commented on whether the grave has been exhumed.

An informant told officials that the grave is marked with the headstone of Jimmy Alexander's deceased brother, Robert Alexander, who died on Christmas Day 2010, the affidavit says.

But the witness reported that Robert Alexander's cremated remains are in a box in his brother's house, the document continues.

Authorities confirmed from a death certificate that Robert Alexander was, indeed, cremated.
