I wonder why he moved to Kentucky? Who he was living with? Who saw him last?

Family of missing Ohio County man say the body found in a toolbox in Grayson County belongs to him

Our ABC affiliate in Evansville spoke to the family of Tromain Mackall, the missing Ohio County man.

The family is convinced that the body that was found in a toolbox in Grayson County is his.

Medical examiners are still trying to identify the body found in the toolbox last week.

Now, even though medical examiners have not officially released the identity of that body found, Howell believes it's her cousin.

Family seeking justice after man identified floating in Grayson Co. creek

The Grayson County Coroner said through dental records, he has confirmed that Tromain Mackall, a 29-year-old father and Navy Veteran was strangled, bound and placed into a toolbox, similar to one you’d see on the back of a pickup truck that was found floating in the Spring Fork Creek, he was reported missing on July 24.

Complexity surrounds the murder of Tromain Mackall

Prince Fredrick's Tromain Mackall was murdered and the complex details have his family, friends and an entire Southern Maryland community wanting answers, but most importantly, justice.

Mackall’s case started as a missing person case in Ohio County. The reported disappearance occurred during a party on the Ohio County and Davies County lines. Mackall’s body was found in Grayson County.

Mackall was reported missing by his significant other, Jonathan Ray DeWitt, 35, of Beaver Dam, KY, also known by his transgender name as Simone Dahlia.

"Tromain (Mackall) moved to Owensboro to be with his girlfriend he met 10-years-ago on MySpace," Ashley Howell said. “She (DeWitt) is a transgender woman—a transgender webcam model.”

Mackall’s autopsy report determined he died from multi-modal asphyxia (strangulation), at some point bound and stuffed into a pickup truck toolbox that was discovered August 2 in the waters of the Spring Fork Creek, in Falls of Rough, KY in Grayson County.

DeWitt has a legal history that includes violence. DeWitt registered as a sex offender in March of this year after being convicted of sexual assault against a 70-year-old victim.

“There is nothing new we can report at this time,” King said. “Right now we are building a timeline.”

Howard pleads guilty to murder and kidnapping in death of man

William Eugene Howard Jr., the former Whitesville resident charged with murder in the death of a man at Howard's home in 2016, pleaded guilty to several charges Friday morning in Daviess Circuit Court.

Howard pleaded guilty to murder, kidnapping of an adult and tampering with evidence in the July, 2016 death of Tromain J. Mackall, 29, who was living in Ohio County at the time he was killed. The plea agreement Howard signed Friday calls for him to spend up to 30 years in prison.

William Howard said little during Friday's hearing other than he was responsible for Mackall's death. The plea agreement calls for him to serve 30 years in prison. He will be eligible for parole after serving 20 years.

Melanie Howard and Hill each pleaded guilty to amended charges of criminal facilitation to commit murder, facilitation to commit kidnapping and tampering with physical evidence. Both had initially been charged with murder and kidnapping.

The plea agreements call for both Hill and Melanie Howard to serve a total of 15 years in prison. They will be eligible for parole after serving 20 percent of their sentences.

The tampering charge against Boyken is still pending. He is next scheduled in court on April 17.

The Howards and Hill are scheduled to be sentenced on March 21.
