This child, Carter, tried to intervene when other children led by a 5 year old were beating up his friend. They turned on him. (injuries & surgeries below)
Under State Law in Washington, kids under the age of eight are incapable of committing crimes.... What should happen to unnderage offenders? What will become of them when they are teens?

6-Year-Old Stands Up To Kids Bullying Friend, They Beat Him Into Hospital #BlueLivesMatter #BackTheBlue Full Story https://buff.ly/2C4SCzV

Olympia, WA – A six-year-old boy was brutally assaulted when he tried to stand up for a friend who was being bullied.

The attack occurred on Aug. 22, when Carter English tried to intervene on behalf of a friend who was being beaten up by neighborhood kids, KOMOreported.

“They were just bullying him, like beating him up,” Carter said. “I just told them to stop... and then they did it to me.”

The group of children around the same age as Carter used rocks and sticks to beat him, KOMO reported.

They also rubbed sawdust in the six year old’s eyes.

Carter ended up with a lacerated eye, a broken arm that may require surgery, and numerous cuts and bruises on his head and face, according to KOMO.

Olympia police investigated and identified the five-year-old boy who was behind both brutal attacks. Police planned to get social services involved.

Police said they presented the case to the prosecutor’s office but they declined to press criminal charges because of the ages of everyone involved, KOMO reported.

Under Washington State law, kids under the age of eight are incapable of committing crimes.

Carter had surgery on Friday morning to repair the damage to his eye.

“This bullying needs to stop.” Olympia mom says her 6-yr-old was beat up by several kids when he tried to stand up for a friend. He just got out of surgery where doctors sewed his eye back together. #komonews

I know kids this age get mad at each other & may yell or shove. But this little gang of underage thugs beat up this little boy like something in movies. In my thinking, he is a hero & should be recognized as such.

I am going to look around for sendmemoney sites - I would love to see Carter's medical bills paid & his education funded thru college.

And I hope the offenders parents get training. Something is very wrong at their houses.

((Hugs)) for Carter. This is horrifying!
JMO. The child who was ringleader in beating up other children needs to be removed from custody of his parents/current custodian(s) and placed in foster care. He and the other children who engaged in the assaults also need to receive psychological counseling. The children are learning the aggressive behavior somewhere, and usually it stems from their home life. Intervention needs to take place ASAP so the behavior doesn't continue/escalate into their teen and adult years.

Yeah, there is definitely something going on in this kid's world. Or, is it violent video games?

Olympia boy, 6, was not injured in a fight with bullies, police say

A 6-year-old Olympia boy who claimed he was seriously injured in a fight defending a friend was actually hurt in a fall, according to Olympia police.

Police determined Thursday that the boy fell at his apartment on Aug. 22, possibly from a window.

6-year-old boy made up story about being beaten by bullies, police say

Detectives with the Olympia Police Department said they developed information that the boy's story wasn't holding up and the injuries might not have been from an attack. They confirmed those suspicions Thursday.

"The injuries sustained by the child are the result of a fall, which occurred at the apartment complex on the date in question, not an assault," Olympia Police said in a news release Thursday. "As a result, there are no suspects of any age."

The boy's mother said she found her son injured last Wednesday, and that he claimed he stood up to a group of kids who were bullying his friend. He was then beaten with rocks and sticks, kicked, and had sawdust rubbed in his eyes, the boy claimed.

"Appropriate social services have been notified to ensure the continued welfare of the child involved," Olympia Police said.

Police didn't give any further details about how the boy fell.
