Amber Alert issued by Davis County sheriff for missing 2-week-old child
An Amber Alert was issued Wednesday for an infant who was allegedly abducted in December by his mother.Davis County sheriff’s deputies are looking for a 2-week-old boy whom they are calling “Baby Torres.” They are also looking for Maria Ann Torres, 36, the boy’s mother.
She is described as a white female, about 5 feet, 3 inches tall, weighing 130 pounds with brown eyes and brown hair. She has several tattoos on her arms, neck, wrist and ankle, according to authorities.
Police are also looking for a Red 2004 Volvo S-80 with Utah license plate F55-1PE that she could be driving.
Torres was born in a Salt Lake hospital on Dec. 20 and was taken by his mother from the hospital two days later, according to the sheriff's office.
But it wasn’t until a petition for custody was filed in 2nd District Court on Tuesday that raised allegations that Torres could be in danger that prompted officials to issue an Amber Alert on Wednesday.
