A multi-state search is underway for the daughter of former UT-Austin and Major League Baseball pitcher Greg Swindell.
The Travis County Sheriff's Department says 29-year-old Brenna Swindell was last seen Thursday night at around 10:20 p.m. at Poodies Hilltop Roadhouse on Highway 71 in Spicewood. Austin police say she was there with her former boyfriend, 36-year-old Morgan Guidry, and neither of them have been seen since. Both of their phones have been turned off since last Friday.Swindell's family reported she has not been in usual contact with them or friends.
An arrest warrant was issued on August 23rd in Travis County for Guidry. He is accused of assaulting Brenna while they were dating, specifically choking her. Court documents allege that Guidry strangled Brenna multiple times, slammed her head onto the floor, and broke her thumb. In an interview with a law enforcement officer, Brenna said she thought Guidry was "going to kill her."
Brenna’s mother, Sarah Swindell, posted on Facebook that her daughter’s former boyfriend is “in trouble with the law from when he assaulted her last month.” She posted that she doesn’t know if her daughter went with him willingly but said, “Brenna would never abandon her three children or just take off without explanation.”
Brenna is described as white, 5'4", between 120 and 140 pounds, with brown hair and hazel eyes. She has tattoos on both arms and may be traveling in a white 2022 Kia Carnival with Texas license plate VFS 7528. It reportedly went through a reader in Colorado on Interstate 25 Friday night and has now been seen in Idaho.
Greg Swindell posted on social media that his daughter's ex-boyfriend "has a warrant and is violent." He added that Brenna has children and urged her to come home.
“She is a single mother with three children so it’s really concerning for her to abandon her children and for her phone to go off, for her phone to be shut off. And it’s even more concerning that the vehicle is moving and it’s being spotted in Colorado and now Idaho, said Ritchie. “She has kids and she has not gone to reach out to them and it kind of seems like whoever has the vehicle is trying to get away from the area and that’s just not normal.”
