CHERYL NOONE: 15-year-old murdered on walk from home to that of a cousin in Lawrence, MA - October 1980

Besides the following newscast and accompanying article, there's very little more, if any, readily available info online regarding this case.

It strikes me as backward and inexplicable that it was the family who reached out to the media rather than the other way around.

That's heartbreaking.

The Tremblay case is on here, the evil POS was found not guilty.

This child was it seems clearly raped and so I'd hope there's DNA? LE says the cases are not related, is that because of DNA I wonder?

They should be testing it and doing the genealogy thing if they aren't. Are they even trying to find her murderer yet??

I came across the case while searching for info on the Tremblay case.

Yeah, I don't know what's going on with the case and I really don't know what to make of that, I mean, like you said, it appears to be a case where something could and should be going on!

I think I may have seen it mentioned in an article or two about Tremblay. I mean the name sounded familiar when you posted it.

It definitely does seem they should be doing \some things and that there ARE things they can be doing these days. There almost has to be DNA in her case as there's a lot of personal contact required for what happened to her...

I'm going to tag @Takeitfromme as she has a lot of personal knowledge about Tremblay and more than likely knows of this one somewhat.

I'm actually not too familiar with the case probably because I was so invested in Melissa Tremblay my whole life. I will refresh on it later. I also have an advocate contact (Andy Puglisi's friend) that I could ask as I am sure she would be VERY familiar with the case. I'll update when I hear something.

Maybe a focus on this one while laid up if you have contacts would be worthwhile. No rush but since you definitely know Melissa's, I thought this one might interest you.

I am positive they had the right guy for Melissa. in no way do I necessarily think this was the same guy, hard to say.

They do deserve the case pursued though and it seems there are things they could be doing with new tech and DNA things these days and so on.

It's not a happy thing of course but I thought it might be something for you to focus on being you are laid up and know things in Melissa's case and people.

I am going to at least try to take this case under my wing. I already have some things under way. There's also someone I am going to make contact with tomorrow to see what info I can gather from them and also see if I can get the blessing from the family to advocate for Cheryl a bit. I'd like to see her case publicized out here in New England and see if some leads pop up.
