Her description and a drawing of her was published in local newspapers, but no one came forward and identified the woman. She did not appear to be a transient.

A surfer found the victim's body on Mother's Day morning around 6:00 AM, crumpled against a barbed wire fence along the Pacific Coast Highway, near Crystal Cove.She had been killed elsewhere and then dumped along the highway from a passing car.
