Got my Masters degree from here. :(

Killer who stabbed 4 Idaho students to death still at large

The killer — or killers — who stabbed four University of Idaho students to death remained at large Tuesday, prompting many students to leave the campus in the idyllic small town despite police assurances that there was no imminent risk to the community.

So many students had left the scenic tree-lined campus in Moscow, Idaho, by Tuesday that university officials said a candlelight vigil scheduled for the next day would instead be held after the Thanksgiving break.

The students, all close friends, were found dead in an off-campus rental home around noon on Sunday, and officials said they likely were killed several hours earlier. Latah County Coroner Cathy Mabbutt told the Spokane, Washington-based television station KXLY that her preliminary investigation showed the students were stabbed to death. There is no indication that substance use was involved in the deaths, Mabbutt said.

Cellphone data shows that Bryan Kohberger, 28, was often in the same location as the three sorority sisters and one of their boyfriends before he allegedly slashed them to death as they apparently slept at an off campus house, a source close to one of the case’s investigators told The Daily Mail.

Kohberger also seemed to be careful about not leaving fingerprints in public even as he fled to his native state of Pennsylvania in recent days, the anonymous source told the outlet Sunday.

“He’s not stupid and has been very careful,” said the source, who claimed to be “good friends” with one of the cops who had surveilled the murder suspect in the days before his arrest.

VERY interesting if true. I'm bearing in mind that Idaho LE has told us not to believe anything unless it comes from their office. However, being that BK is schooling in criminology, this wouldn't surprise me. The only thing that does surprise me is that he would have his cell phone with him while stalking?

but was he actually "stalking" or part of their group, whether closely or loosely? Was he possibly inserting himself in their lives and analyzing the situation? Were they (or one of them) being nice and letting the "weird" guy hang around, feeling sorry for him? They very possibly could have been making it easy for him to stalk them without even realizing it.

True! He was just another student to everyone at that point.

I wonder how they got his DNA after the fact, if he was being so careful. Seems like he would know they tend to grab suspects’ trash.

He needed the phone to take pictures, I'd think.

He used a knife. It's not unusual for a knife to slip down the stabbers hand and cut them.

"Stalker" is exactly what I thought. Maybe obsessively. The info from the Fox article stated he had a heroin addiction at one time and he is described as an awkward loner. Maybe he developed a perceived grudge and this was his revenge.

Maybe it would’ve seemed even more suspicious to get rid of it.
IMO. No. Since it's a very common car and color is common and generic. He could have an excuse for people that knew him for why he got rid of it. Started giving him problems. Was sick of it maybe. Wanted a different type of vehicle like an SUV. A PhD student wouldn't pop into your head as a suspect. Kimster brought up Bundy. I spoke about him. He is the closest comparison to this guy. Educated. Alot of serial killers drop out at a very early age or just finish high school. And these killings do remind me of "The Chi Omega" Murders in Florida. Then went 6 blocks and attacked another woman. That night he was out of control. No kidnapping, 2 died. But 2 in the house lived. He just wanted to inflict as much injury as possible. Then killed 12 yr old Kimberly Leach. His known youngest victim. But he is suspected of an abduction and killing, Although they never found her body. Of a 9 yr old neighborhood girl that he knew when he was 14.l'm glad he messed up in Florida. Or he might still using up everyone's oxygen. So if this guy went across state lines to do this, Is it a federal offense?. Or does that only apply if you transport a victim across state lines?. I can't imagine this guy started with these killings unless one was a specific target. But he would have exhibited signs in life already.

Stalker, Awkward loner. "Pretty much kept to themselves" We hear about serial killers quite often. Some exceptions, "John Wayne Gacy" Was very involved in the 4H Club and throwing theme based parties. Also. UGH. YIKES! Dressed as a clown for the kids. "Pogo the Clown". I HATE clowns. And this just backs up my argument. Loner, Jeffrey Dahmer.

statement from Kohberger family

No one thinks their child is guilty. Louise Bundy had to finally face it when she heard a tape of Ted admitting it. Some still won't believe, Even with overwhelming evidence. I take his family's post as half and half. They aren't blaming anyone and are saying they will let LE do their job.

I mean, smarty pants DID drive his own vehicle that night...

I'm bearing in mind that Idaho LE has told us not to believe anything unless it comes from their office.
Him waiving extradition hopefully means we'll see the probable cause affidavit in the coming week.

So now absolute facts that were bounced around as true, Not true, True again.
Fact:
1. He did drive a white Electra.
2. It was in fact a stalker
3. Cell phone records show his location that puts him in the area.
4. His sister lived in the area.

I am anxious to hear the motive. Why he chose them. Stalking 4 people?.

Has anyone else wondered if he was on the spectrum? Not that it excuses the crime if he is found to be guilty. His social awkwardness stands out from my perspective. The survey could be simply a red herring and has been sensationalized.

Also, BK had been in WA for a a few months before this, correct?

While opinions are a dime a dozen on this case I'm trying to understand the actual facts rather than 'sources' in MSM. If there was enough evidence for an AW perhaps there will be more information that gets released by the court.
