Family of missing Warren man pleads for answers

The family of Juvar King Sr., a 43-year-old Warren man who has been missing since Tuesday, is desperately searching for answers and urging the public to help locate their loved one.

He was last seen about 5:15 p.m. Tuesday at a friend’s house in Warren, according to his family. When he failed to return home, missed his daily responsibilities and his phones were turned off, his family knew something was wrong.

“This is not like him,” said Ebony Morgan, King’s sister. “He has responsibilities. He takes care of his children every day. He has a son who is ill, and he makes sure he’s there for him. He takes his daughter to school. When none of that happened, and his phones was off, we knew something was wrong.”

King’s oldest daughter, Javanier King, described the family’s efforts to find him.

“We went to Cleveland because his phone was last pinged there. We talked to everyone on the street, and nobody had seen or heard anything, we tried to find any houses that had cameras, only a car shop camera that didn’t catch anything” she said, this having occurred on Wednesday.

The family searched Cleveland for hours, including trips to “four or five police stations” all of which yielded no results, Morgan said.

At one point they said his phone was pinged near a school in Cleveland, but neither his phone nor his car — a 2005 or 2006 white Buick Lacrosse with dark tinted windows — has been recovered.

Anyone with information about Juvar King’s whereabouts is urged to contact the Warren Police Department at 330-841-2512, the family’s tip line at 330-555-1234, or his sister Jalissa at 216-703-7805.

The family offered a $20,000 reward for the whereabouts of their loved one and $10,000 for information that leads to the recovery of his vehicle.

Father of 5 missing for weeks; burned vehicle found more than 50 miles away from his home

An Ohio father has been missing for two weeks and his family is worried.

Juvar King, 46, has been missing since Feb. 4.

The family said they started to worry when the father of five didn’t show up to pick up his daughter from school.

“He’s always taking my sisters to school and picking them up,” his oldest daughter, Javanier King said. “He’s just a family guy. We never went this long without talking to him or seeing him. It’s like a movie, a nightmare we can’t wake up from.”

More than 50 miles away in Cleveland, King’s Buick was found burned and ditched at an illegal dumping site.

“It was a completely scorched,” resident Andrew Schmidt said. “You couldn’t even tell what color it was. Completely burned out. No glass, no interior, nothing.”

Cleveland police confirmed the burned car is connected to King.

“We’re waiting for them to contact the detective in Warren for the street cameras to see the routes where the car was,” Javanier King said.

Records show Cleveland police received an arson call the same day King went missing at the location where the car was later found.

The King family said their father’s phone last pinged his location near St. Clair Avenue and East 66th Place, about five miles from where his car was dumped.

“We’ve been non-stop going anywhere to check on any leads or where we think he could be,” Javanier King said.

So yeah. Fire put it out and then it went nowhere.

Car of missing Warren dad found burned in Cleveland, left sitting for days

After putting out the fire, it said E26, or Engine 26, “did not request FIU at the time due to having no owner on scene, no witnesses, and no evidence to collect.”

FIU stands for the Fire Investigation Unit.

We reached out to Cleveland Fire and a spokesperson told us the car fire happened at night, which is “after hours.”

And their protocol is to investigate the fire the following morning, which they did.

Then they said fire investigators requested police tow the vehicle.

The report noted this is a “known illegal dumping location” and “there were no video surveillance cameras” in the area, despite signs saying it’s under surveillance.

Cleveland Police records show another person called police about this burnt-out car and it was ultimately there for five days, until February 9.

We checked Cleveland Police’s general police order.

It reads in part,“It is the policy of the Cleveland Division of Police to process tow vehicles that officers have probable cause to believe are connected with a crime and contain evidence..”

We reached out to Cleveland Police and asked why the car wasn’t towed following the fire and if this was in line with their policy.

They told us it will take some time to get that information and they’ll get back to us “when answers are available.”

$10K bond set for man accused of torching car of missing Warren dad

The man arrested for arson Thursday in connection to the burnt car of a missing Warren father found this week was arraigned in Cleveland Municipal Court Saturday morning.

According to the criminal complaint, Nathaniel Christian Crockett, 28, is accused of utilizing ignitable liquid to set fire to a 2007 Buick LaCrosse on Sherwood Road between McCurdy Avenue and Ambler Street on Feb. 4.

Judge Jeffrey D. Johnson set Crockett’s bond at $10,000.

Crockett’s attorney said as of right now, Juvar King and Crockett have no connection other than this car and she asked the judge to keep that in mind when he made his decision.

The court is in agreement that notwithstanding what the prosecutor said we have to look at what is in front of us and what is in front of us is that there is an allegation of a car being set on fire,” Johnson said.

King’s family is offering a $10,000 reward for information that helps find him.

The Cleveland Fire Arson Unit continues to investigate this incident, according to a release from Cleveland Police.

Warren father missing for weeks, kids want answers

An Ohio family is desperate for answers weeks after a Warren father went missing on Feb. 4.

Twenty-year-old Javanier King has been searching for her father, Juvar King since he went missing. The family became concerned after he didn’t pick up his daughters from school.

“That is very out of the ordinary for him. He doesn’t go off the grid, and he love his family,” Javanier said.

Javanier said the unknown has been hard on the entire family.

"A lot of the family are not eating, missing work, I haven't been doing my schoolwork, we haven’t been talking to each other how we usually talk to each other because it's just draining everyone,” Javanier said.

Javanier said they are thankful to Cleveland Police for keeping them in the loop during the arson investigation.

"The Cleveland detectives are all doing their best to figure out what's going on, and they're keeping us in the loop, but Warren Police Department are not really doing much in my opinion,” said Javanier.

Javanier said the family searches for King daily and wants their father to know they are not giving up.

"We're still out here looking and we're doing the best we can day and night despite the freezing weather,” Javanier said.

King created a Text Now phone number for people to message the family anonymous tips. If you had any information on Javanier's disappearance, you could text the number (330)-938-8676.

Missing man’s family has faith he’ll return

It’s been almost three weeks since Juvar King Sr. was reported missing, and on Monday, his daughter says she continues to pray for his return home.

His daughter Javanier King says she’s trying to stay positive and has faith her dad will come home.

“It’s 19 days today that he’s been missing, so I think of all type of scenarios like where he could be what he went through or how that went with him,” she said. “So I just, I try not to think about it, but I still have faith that he’s coming home.”

I wonder how far that was from where his car was found, being Cleveland is about 50 miles from Warren and his car is said to be found about 50 miles from where he lived.

I thought I was on satellite which is what shows more detail but apparently it didn't come through like that. Ignore the pin it just was the generic 1800# so not necessarily the exact spot of his body.

If the extension of the street is also Chapman (not named on here) that's all houses it seemed with front yards and back yards, if it is the part that was named that looks more like warehouses or some such. I didn't spend long so it can probably be determined exactly what they are and someone else can probably do better. I'd almost think it would be that area, the part of the street that has the name on it, versus someone's yard on the part to the east but who knows.

I haven't went in and read the links yet, just saw the general address and wanted to see it.

So, anyhow, they have this answer now, sad outcome, not surprised though.

There's something more to this one although I have no idea what. Meaning was he just in the wrong place, wrong time and it was opportunistic or something else.

Tried to link but it was being a PIA so gave up. Done. Was a fairly straight shot although I didn't look that close before I tried to link and the map reverted.

I can't recall where the liquor store was and don't have the time right now but it's not known if that was his last place anyhow is it... Just last known I think.

I suppose more will come in time, maybe. How long the figure dead, autopsy, etc.

Probably foul play. Seems doubtful he burned his own car then killed self somewhere else in a dumping ground as the one resident puts it.
