Family of missing Warren man pleads for answers

The family of Juvar King Sr., a 43-year-old Warren man who has been missing since Tuesday, is desperately searching for answers and urging the public to help locate their loved one.

He was last seen about 5:15 p.m. Tuesday at a friend’s house in Warren, according to his family. When he failed to return home, missed his daily responsibilities and his phones were turned off, his family knew something was wrong.

“This is not like him,” said Ebony Morgan, King’s sister. “He has responsibilities. He takes care of his children every day. He has a son who is ill, and he makes sure he’s there for him. He takes his daughter to school. When none of that happened, and his phones was off, we knew something was wrong.”

King’s oldest daughter, Javanier King, described the family’s efforts to find him.

“We went to Cleveland because his phone was last pinged there. We talked to everyone on the street, and nobody had seen or heard anything, we tried to find any houses that had cameras, only a car shop camera that didn’t catch anything” she said, this having occurred on Wednesday.

The family searched Cleveland for hours, including trips to “four or five police stations” all of which yielded no results, Morgan said.

At one point they said his phone was pinged near a school in Cleveland, but neither his phone nor his car — a 2005 or 2006 white Buick Lacrosse with dark tinted windows — has been recovered.

Anyone with information about Juvar King’s whereabouts is urged to contact the Warren Police Department at 330-841-2512, the family’s tip line at 330-555-1234, or his sister Jalissa at 216-703-7805.

The family offered a $20,000 reward for the whereabouts of their loved one and $10,000 for information that leads to the recovery of his vehicle.

Father of 5 missing for weeks; burned vehicle found more than 50 miles away from his home

An Ohio father has been missing for two weeks and his family is worried.

Juvar King, 46, has been missing since Feb. 4.

The family said they started to worry when the father of five didn’t show up to pick up his daughter from school.

“He’s always taking my sisters to school and picking them up,” his oldest daughter, Javanier King said. “He’s just a family guy. We never went this long without talking to him or seeing him. It’s like a movie, a nightmare we can’t wake up from.”

More than 50 miles away in Cleveland, King’s Buick was found burned and ditched at an illegal dumping site.

“It was a completely scorched,” resident Andrew Schmidt said. “You couldn’t even tell what color it was. Completely burned out. No glass, no interior, nothing.”

Cleveland police confirmed the burned car is connected to King.

“We’re waiting for them to contact the detective in Warren for the street cameras to see the routes where the car was,” Javanier King said.

Records show Cleveland police received an arson call the same day King went missing at the location where the car was later found.

The King family said their father’s phone last pinged his location near St. Clair Avenue and East 66th Place, about five miles from where his car was dumped.

“We’ve been non-stop going anywhere to check on any leads or where we think he could be,” Javanier King said.

So yeah. Fire put it out and then it went nowhere.

Car of missing Warren dad found burned in Cleveland, left sitting for days

After putting out the fire, it said E26, or Engine 26, “did not request FIU at the time due to having no owner on scene, no witnesses, and no evidence to collect.”

FIU stands for the Fire Investigation Unit.

We reached out to Cleveland Fire and a spokesperson told us the car fire happened at night, which is “after hours.”

And their protocol is to investigate the fire the following morning, which they did.

Then they said fire investigators requested police tow the vehicle.

The report noted this is a “known illegal dumping location” and “there were no video surveillance cameras” in the area, despite signs saying it’s under surveillance.

Cleveland Police records show another person called police about this burnt-out car and it was ultimately there for five days, until February 9.

We checked Cleveland Police’s general police order.

It reads in part,“It is the policy of the Cleveland Division of Police to process tow vehicles that officers have probable cause to believe are connected with a crime and contain evidence..”

We reached out to Cleveland Police and asked why the car wasn’t towed following the fire and if this was in line with their policy.

They told us it will take some time to get that information and they’ll get back to us “when answers are available.”

Cleveland man charged in vehicle arson linked to missing man from Warren

Nathaniel Crockett, a 28-year-old Cleveland man, has been charged in connection to a vehicle fire that investigators say was intentionally set.

According to Cleveland police, the burned vehicle belonged to a family member of Juvar King, a missing person from Warren. The Warren Police Department is handling the investigation into the missing person.

Cleveland Fire responded to a vehicle fire in the 9300 block of Sherwood Road on Feb. 4. The next day, Feb. 5, arson investigators determined the fire was intentionally set and began an investigation.

Through investigative efforts, authorities identified and arrested Crockett. He has been charged with arson.
