Texas Department of Public Safety issued an Amber Alert early Friday morning for two little girls missing out of San Antonio: Zylah Faulks, 2, and Kamil Brown-Sykes, 9.

Julio Najar-Trevino is the suspect in this case. He is 29 years old.

It’s unclear from law enforcement’s bulletin whether the girls knew Najar-Trevino, nor circumstances surrounding this case. KPRC 2 will bring you more information as it becomes available.

The girls were last seen in the 3200 block of Bolmore Drive in San Antonio at 4:50 p.m. on Thursday.

A photo has been provided for Kamil, but not of Zylah. Kamil weighs 80 pounds and is three feet, nine inches tall. Zylah has curly hair, ear top length and weighs 30 pounds and is two feet, nine inches tall.

The vehicle in this case is a gray 2008 Saturn Aura with Texas license plate SWS6018.

So kids are still missing so he is not cooperating then. Interference rather than kidnapping for a charge? $10K seems low for a bond with two children he took not know to be safe yet. IN fact, it sounds like a joke.

Bumping. Not a lot of information being put out there. I hope he stashed them with a family member, but I always worry more when the abductor is found without the children.

This article from yesterday includes a new suspect, who does share the same last name as one of the girls.

Officials believe the girls could be with 28-year-old suspect Khadijah Faulks.

2 San Antonio children still missing after suspected abductor arrested over the weekend
The search for a pair missing children out of San Antonio continues after a person in connection to their abduction was arrested over the weekend.
On Saturday, Julio Najar-Trevino was arrested in connection with their abduction.

According to court records, the two children were ordered to be removed from the home due to poor living conditions and neglectful supervision, as well as gun-related incidents at the residence.

During his arrest, Najar-Trevino refused to cooperate with the officers on the whereabouts of the children, saying that "neither the court nor CPS (Child Protective Services) have the authority to take custody of their children, and if the children were present now, he wouldn't let police take them from him."

He is being charged with interference with child custody.

SAN ANTONIO - An update now on the search for two missing children. After police arrested 29-year-old Julio Najar-Trevino in connection with the case he was freed on bond over the weekend.

<snip>

"Given the nature of the accusations, it's alarming," Calfas Law Firm Attorney Jason Wolff said. Wolff and Calfas Law Firm are not affiliated with the case.

An Amber Alert was sent out for the children and said they were taken from a Southeast Side home. Najar-Trevino was charged with interference with child custody. Court records show he made his $10,000 bond and walked out of jail earlier this week even though the children are still missing.

"How and why are they giving him bond," Reporter Amanda Henderson asked.

"In Texas, on the state level, based on the constitution, everybody is entitled to a bond. Certainly, the judge has some discretion. The judge looks at the nature of the offense. That is and the facts of the case," Wolff said.

Officials said Najar-Trevino is staying quiet about where the children are. He allegedly admitted to knowing CPS had a court order to remove the children.

Reposting what I said above. Seems like a joke, the bond. And now he has made it but the kids are still missing!! And no one could see that one coming???

I guess they could want him out to see if watching him leads to the children but you know what, time in jail with no freedom may have led to that too while they were also looking for them. Now he is out where if they are still alive, he could do more with them, to them, etc. He may just have them hidden but WHO WITH and why aren't they talking?

DUMB dangerous low bond.

Cortland, NY — Update as of Tuesday June 13th at 6:33 a.m.: The amber alert for Aaliyah Bowman and Anthony M. Bowman III has been canceled.

They were found safely at a family members home in the City of Syracuse.

Refugio County Sheriff's Office deputies and a Refugio Police Department officer recovered two children who were reported missing through the Amber Alert child abduction alert system on June 24.

According to Refugio County Sheriff Raul "Pinky" Gonzales, Refugio County law enforcement was alerted of the vehicle traveling on Farm-to-Market Road 2678 north of Bayside at approximately 1:30 a.m. The vehicle was spotted at the intersection of Farm-to-Market roads 2678 and 774 and stopped in Refugio.

"One of our deputies confirmed the license plate number at the three-way stop," Gonzales said. "He decided to stop the vehicle in the middle of town because he was by himself. He knew he could have a little bit of backup in town if something happened."

Gonzales said the driver of the vehicle, 29-year-old Julio Najar-Trevino, was discovered to have an outstanding arrest warrant in Bexar County for continuing violence against family.

"There was a woman in the backseat with the two children," Gonzales said. "She wouldn't get out of the vehicle and she wouldn't roll the window down."

According to Gonzales, the officers had to break the window to get the children.

"She was still resisting and they had to tase her," Gonzales said.

The woman, 29-year-old Khadijah Faulks, was charged with interference with child custody and resisting arrest. According to Gonzales, Faulks was transported to San Antonio after it was learned she was pregnant.

Najar-Trevino was still in custody at the Refugio County Jail as of June 26.

The children Kamil Brown-Sykes, 9, and Zylak Faulks, 2, were released to Texas Child Protective Services.
