To me it seems someone intentionally hit her to incapacitate the car to abduct her and the child. Taking the plate and the car not burned to make it harder to identify, Which usually doesn't work. I don't get that at all. All that has to be done is run the vin # located several places. That's why burning doesn't usually work either.

Basically no info in the articles and I can't see anything in the FB post. This could be anything but I might have missed something with the post.

An abductor may not overly care if they find her car, it isn't his nor would necessarily track to him but odd then the plates would be removed at all... I guess it would slow things down for at least a few minutes. A cop couldn't just drive by and run the plates, he would have to stop but on the same hand, no plates would interest a cop more so TO STOP. Makes on think whoever did this wasn't the brightest or didn't think it out...?

What if she wanted to disappear and maybe didn't want a husband able to be sure it was her car... A cop can run the VIN but a person wouldn't so easily without a report to the cops...

I don't know. No real ideas. So the car was hit? Again, I can't see the FB post.

I know this much, I think if someone abducted both an adult and a child and wasn't stealing the car, it is likely an ex-bf or something on that order... Husband... Unless a stranger abductor hit her and took over the car, drove it with them in it and then dumped it later somewhere other than where taken...?

Address is an apartment building. Just checked to get thoughts. Is it known she even left alone with the child and no one with them? Just that she was last seen there is all I saw.

It seemed like it would be someone close for both of them to disappear. Meaning a random pedophile isn't going to take the mother, etc. Usually is "close to home" Sad.

Man leads police to the hidden bodies of his girlfriend, her son, Louisiana cops say
A Louisiana man was arrested on March 14 after leading police to the bodies of his girlfriend and her son.

Brynnen Murphy, 20, from Baton Rouge, was charged with two counts of first degree murder, Baton Rouge Police Detectives said in a news release.

When officers contacted Murphy, he denied knowing her or having information about her location. But on March 14, he contacted authorities and led detectives to the locations where the woman and her son’s bodies were recovered, the arrest warrant shows.

After examining the bodies, police believe the mother and her son might have been dead for at least a week, KNOE reported.

As of March 15, Murphy is in the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison, according to the news release.

McKneely told KNOE that police don’t know why Johnson and her son were killed.

Boyfriend Fatally Shoots Pregnant Girlfriend, Throws Her Toddler Son off Bridge: Cops

A pregnant woman and her toddler son were found dead in Louisiana on Monday, the same day the woman’s boyfriend reportedly confessed to killing them.

Baton Rouge police said Kaylen Johnson, 24, was found deceased on Burbank Drive between Gardere Lane and Ben Hur Road, while Kaden Johnson’s body was discovered on Central Thruway near Frenchtown Road. Brynnen Murphy, 20, confessed to fatally shooting his girlfriend and throwing her 2-year-old son off a bridge, according to WBRZ.

Kaylen and Kaden Johnson were last seen on March 5. Murphy is not the slain toddler’s father. Kaylen was reportedly six months pregnant.

“Throughout the interview process, he gave us the information as to both being deceased, and the locations as to where they were,” Baton Rouge police Seargent Ljean McKneely told WAFB.

According to the WBRZ, Murphy recalled Kaden being present when he fatally shot his mother in a car and dumped her body. Murphy then discarded the gun near where his girlfriend’s body was found.

Afterward, Murphy allegedly took Kaden — who was alive — to a bridge and threw him off. Sources told WBRZ that Murphy heard the toddler crying as he fled the scene.

According to The Advocate, McKneely said they found Kaylen’s car without its license plate. At the time, officers reached out to Murphy but he allegedly refused to speak with them and vanished. Murphy is believed to have left Kaylen’s car on a dead-end road.

McKneely said they have not confirmed how the mother and son died, but the condition of their bodies suggests they died at least a week before they were found on Monday.

Family members told WBRZ that Murphy was babysitting the toddler on the day the pair vanished.

Murphy is charged with first-degree murder.

No soul in this man at all! He needs to stay away from society for the rest of his pathetic life!

Well he gave up where they were. WHY kill the 2 year old. So the 2 year old saw. If this man was older than 20 he may have realized a 2 year old saying he hurt mommy probably isn't going to be enough to convict but I wouldn't doubt there was probably enough evidence and a not well thought out cover up he would have been caught anyhow. He was a BABY. She didn't deserve to die either but no calm down moment between killing mom and no feeling for the child? The car without plates. Not thought out, not mature, I didn't think it fit a random abductor but who knows... It doesn't excuse it. He gave up where the bodies were but it doesn't excuse it. And she was pregnant as well? So sad. Triple homicide really. And a 20 year old that should be going away without a doubt for the rest of his life.

Disturbing autopsy results released in deaths of pregnant woman, son

The East Baton Rouge Coroner’s Office released the preliminary results of the autopsies that were done on a pregnant woman and her young son on Tuesday, March 15.

Coroner Dr. William “Beau” Clark said the manner of death for Kaylen Johnson, 24, is homicide. He added the cause of death is multiple gunshot wounds. Clark confirmed she was pregnant at the time of her death.

Clark said the manner of death for Kayden Johnson, 2, is also homicide. He explained the toddler’s cause of death is pending further studies but hypothermia is suspected. He added no trauma was noted.

Since the autopsy results show Johnson was pregnant, Baton Rouge police said they will file an additional charge against Brynnen Murphy, 20, for feticide. He was initially arrested on Monday, March 14, on two counts of first-degree murder.

Family members added Murphy is Kaylen Johnson’s boyfriend and the father of her unborn child. Police said Murphy is not Kayden Johnson’s father.

Yep. Triple homicide basically. And throw out the two year old in case he talked? A 20 year old who can do the deed and plant the seed...

Cynical me. I think I should change my screen name.

Snuffed out three lives, should lose his own and affected how many loved ones of all four, the three victims and himself.

He should never see the light of day. Sad, 20 and probably nowhere near mature but again, choice after choice... Sex is fun, getting someone pregnant is not I guess...

Jmo and my guess. Seems to me he killed a 2 year old "witness". SMDH.

There is an easy answer to so many of these cases. Keep your pants zipped. She didn't make ya.

That part right there though.. that was hard to read. How could he.. 😫 and the child was heard crying after he fled 😢. This was no quick end for that poor baby from the sound of it. Oh the words I could use to describe how I feel about this Murphy scum.. This is heart wrenching for real.

That was the hardest part for me too. How cold is that. I hope that baby's cries haunt him for eternity because just hearing it or thinking about it haunts me and I'm sure any person who reads it.

Accused killer formally charged after allegedly throwing toddler from bridge, shooting pregnant girlfriend

A man suspected of killing his girlfriend, who was pregnant with his child at the time, will go to trial to face murder and feticide charges. He's also accused of killing the woman's 2-year-old son.

On Thursday, a grand jury formally charged 20-year-old Brynnen Murphy in the killings of Kaylen Johnson, her son Kaden and her unborn child. He faces two counts of first-degree murder and a charge of first-degree feticide.

Murphy, initially booked in East Baton Rouge, is currently being held in the West Baton Rouge jail, where he was moved for his own safety.

Mother suing man accused of killing her daughter, grandson and unborn granddaughter

A man accused of killing a pregnant Baton Rouge woman and tossing her toddler son off a bridge to his death is being sued in federal court.

According to the complaint filed recently in the U.S. Middle District of Louisiana, property owners at 24-year-old Kaylen Johnson’s apartment complex failed to protect her from her alleged killer and boyfriend, Brynnen Murphy.

Murphy was a maintenance worker at the Spires of Sherwood Apartments in the 11800 block of Old Hammond Highway, where Johnson lived with her 2-year-old son, Kayden.

Proprietors at the complex prohibited employees from dating tenants, but they allowed Murphy keep his job even after learning Johnson was pregnant and Murphy’s inappropriate sexual relationship with the woman came to light, the lawsuit alleges. Ultimately, the lawsuit indicates, that led to three deaths when the couple’s relationship turned fatal March 5, 2022.

Johnson’s family is now suing Murphy and owners of the apartment property.

Attorneys say the deaths have caused Fleming “severe and permanent emotional trauma and distress.” The plaintiff is suing for pain and suffering, professional therapy and other damages.

Murphy has yet to be tried for the deadly episode. He pleaded not guilty to his charges during a June 12 arraignment, about two months after doctors testified that he is mentally competent to stand trial. He remains at the West Baton Rouge Detention Center, records show. He faces a mandatory life sentence if convicted.
