MISSING: Two runaway teenagers reported missing from Cedar City

Two runaway juveniles have been reported missing since Feb. 18 from the Cedar City area.

According to a press release, the Cedar City Police Department was notified of the runaway teenagers, Asia Marie Loomer-James, 16, and Larry Dean Cooke Jr., 15, on Feb. 18 at around 12:39 p.m.

The officer who responded to the scene was given a description of the two juveniles and an adult female who was potentially driving a small, red car. Initial information also indicated the teens may have been leaving the state, possibly with Loomer-James’ biological mother.

The CCPD investigations department has been following leads to locate the teenagers. Loomer-James’ biological mother was located in Oklahoma where local authorities contacted her and searched her residence with no success in finding the teenagers — she also denied taking them.

Investigators are following leads which indicate the juveniles might be in Las Vegas, Nevada, Oklahoma, Montana or California.

On February 18th, 2020, 15-year-old Larry Cooke and his girlfriend 16-year-old Asia Loomer-James disappeared from their homes in Cedar City, Utah.

Larry’s dad, Larry Cooke Sr., says he’s extremely concerned about the teenage couple. He was hoping the kids were just off on a rebellious adventure, but now with no word from them for almost a month he’s worried they’ve somehow run into trouble.

“Many people think missing teenagers are not really in danger, when in fact they are some of the most vulnerable people out there,” says Angeline Hartmann, Director of Communications at the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children. “Endangered runaways often end up in desperate situations with no resources to keep them safe. They can be easy targets for criminals.”

In the weeks following their disappearance, unconfirmed sightings of the couple in Las Vegas were called into the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children. Now, the Cedar City Police in Utah are releasing new information to the public.

Police say Larry and Asia may be with an older female companion in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, possibly driving a red or maroon car with blue tape on the exterior.

Have they changed their appearance? Detectives say both children have been known to dye their hair; now Asia’s hair might be blonde and Larry’s hair might be red.
