Cape Coral Police need help locating missing woman

Lauren Brittney Dumolo, 30, was last seen on June 19th, 2020, at 4927 Coronado Parkway Apartment #1, and she was reported missing on June 21st.

Police say her purse had been located by a citizen at Four Freedoms Park (4818 Tarpon Court) on June 19th, a place she often visited.

Her cell phone was also located in her apartment.

Lauren's status as a missing person was changed to a missing person endangered on June 24th as a result of the investigation.

Lauren is a frequent walker in the area and does not own a car.

Police work to trace Cape Coral woman’s suspicious disappearance

Investigators are working to trace the steps of a young mother who seemed to vanish into thin air.

Nobody has seen 29-year-old Lauren Dumolo in 11 days Tuesday. Cape Coral Police Department considers her disappearance suspicious. Her purse was found at park she frequented, and her cell phone was found by police at her home.

With the help of our Safety & Security Specialist, we looked at her disappearance as police would.

That started with a conversation with her father. Lauren’s dad, Paul Dumolo flew into Southwest Florida from California once his daughter went missing. He says his daughter’s disappearance is out of character.

“Gut feeling as a father, that’s not my daughter,” Paul said. “She would’ve at least called somebody and she would’ve answered my texts.”

Paul admits his daughter’s gone through some tough times but has been on the straight and narrow since she lost custody of her child two years ago. Lauren has a young daughter of 5 years old, who lives up north with her paternal grandmother.

“She didn’t want that for her life anymore,” Paul said. “No matter what it was, she always knew she could reach out to me.”

So, when Paul’s daughter didn’t call him on Father’s Day, he knew something was wrong.

“I can’t cry, man. I gotta stay strong because I gotta find my daughter,” Paul said.

June 19, Lauren’s live-in boyfriend was reportedly the last person to see her. That same day, her purse was found at Four Freedoms Park.

“It’s like she fell off the face of the earth,” said. Boom. Gone. “

We saw police canvassing the area and passing out fliers.

A man we saw talking to police didn’t want to be interviewed on the record but told us that he saw Lauren June 19 around 8 a.m. and waved at her.

He said, the day before, Lauren asked him about available apartments, saying she “wanted to get out of the situation she was in.”

“It signals to me that she’s scared of this man,” Paul said. “I have no choice but to think the worst right now.”

CCPD told us the reason they elevated Lauren’s case to endangered is because, when someone disappears voluntarily, they take their belongings, a wallet, a phone. In this case, she did not.

Imo this case and this father has not garnered near the interest and support it should. No idea what if anything LE is doing with regard to it. I too think the bf definitely is on the radar strongly imo if the few facts we have are accurate.

Now they’re talking about another gentleman who is in jail named Carl Crow. I guess she hung out with him sometimes in her darker moments. He or those he knows are suspected of killing another girl.

He was in custody at the time Lauren went missing, but he has given investigators other people to look at.

I wonder if the lack of publicity on this case is because she was involved in drugs. That happens sometimes. 🙁
Yeah, I don't know. I suspect what you are watching that I have not seen is giving more info or some anyhow as this has not been an attention getting case for sure. I am not up on it recently but it has had little attention compared to some. I do think what you say here may have something to do with it and I think her dad even said as much, things were not always perfect (paraphrasing with a poor memory right now on it). Sad but no matter the challenges in life or whether doing perfectly or not a perfect individual, I do feel this one is foul play and she deserves just as much a look into it as others. I think those she was maybe around whether bf or someone else is responsible...

JUST RELEASED: Video shows Lauren Dumolo day before disappearance

Nearly nine months after a Cape Coral mother disappeared, Cape Coral police released surveillance video showing her applying for a job at a local gas station the day before she went missing.

Less than 24 hours later, around 6.am. on Friday morning, Lauren’s boyfriend, Gabriel, said he saw Lauren before he went to work. Gabriel said he told her goodbye and let her sleep in.

Gabriel filed a missing persons report with the Cape Coral Police Department at 6:23 p.m. In the report, he said that Lauren was not answering her phone, but had left for days before and didn’t contact anyway.

Her boyfriend also said she did not make any statements of wanting to harm herself or anyone else and wasn’t on any medications. Gabriel did admit he was filing the missing persons report because Lauren’s father asked her to.

When he says that she had left for days before and didn’t contact anyone, did he mean anyone that he knows?

One year later: Still no answers about Lauren Dumolo’s disappearance

Saturday marks a full year since a Cape Coral mother went missing from her home.

Officials are still searching for answers and asking anyone with information on the disappearance of Lauren Dumolo to come forward, according to Southwest Florida Crime Stoppers.

When Lauren Dumolo lost her job amid the COVID-19 pandemic in June 2020, the Cape Coral, Fla., mom wanted to quickly find a new one to support her 5-year-old daughter McKayla.

On June 18, 2020, Lauren walked into a convenience store and applied for a position at a sandwich shop, which was captured on surveillance video.

The next day, her sister Cassie Carey says, "I called her that morning like three different times, messaged her and I never heard back from her."

LCSO seeks Lauren Dumolo’s dental records to compare to human remains found off Pine Island Rd

The Lee County Sheriff’s Office is seeking the dental records of Lauren Dumolo, a 29-year-old Cape Coral mother who has been missing since June 2020, to compare them to human remains found off Pine Island Road on Tuesday, Oct. 5.

Lee County Sheriff Carmine Marceno held a news conference on Wednesday afternoon with the Cape Coral Police Department, asking that any dentist who may have Dumolo’s dental records come forward.

The human remains found off Pine Island Road in a vacant, wooded lot shared similarities with Lauren Dumolo, Sheriff Marceno said. The remains that were found belong to a white female, possibly between the ages of 30 and 35, small stature. The remains belong to a person who has been deceased for less than five years but longer than six months.

“We believe that there is a good possibility that the skeletal remains are that of Lauren’s,” Cape Coral Police Chief Anthony Sizemore said.

Investigators stressed that they cannot say with 100 percent certainty that the remains belong to Dumolo.

Sizemore said this is the biggest lead they have had in Dumolo’s missing persons case. He explained that Dumolo had a tooth extraction 10 years ago in Staten Island, so investigators have been looking into dental offices in Staten Island and Maryland, pleading anyone in those offices to come forward with information.

Detectives are also pleading with any local dental professionals who may have done work on Dumolo to come forward.

Wow, asking for dentists to come forward. This case needs answers, I feel for her father.

I do wonder why DNA is not an option...?

Also, are there that many dentists in Staten Island I wonder... Hopefully they are also checking with each of them.

It may be. And it may already be in the works. But dentals, if available, would be way faster to at least get the family an answer.
That's true, if a dentist comes forward anyhow.

Someone's loved one has been found. If it is a homicide, then any perp who left a body there should be pretty worried about now...

If it is Lauren, there goes any idea she took off for parts unknown.

Lee County sheriff: Skeletal remains found on Pine Island Road not that of Lauren Dumolo

The Lee County Sheriff's Office confirmed that skeletal remains found on Pine Island Road this month do not match those of Lauren Dumolo and identified as those of another missing woman.

“While this is a setback in the quest for closure for Lauren’s family, hope remains that Lauren is out there," Cape Coral Police Chief Anthony Sizemore said in a release.

While death is not what one wants, I hoped her father would finally have answers but it is not her...

I wonder what the story is with who it was, never reported missing...

Crime Stoppers uses mailers to remind public of Lauren Dumolo case

Investigators are hoping that mailers about the Lauren Dumolo missing person’s case will help bring to light more information that could help find her whereabouts.

Dumolo went missing on June 19, 2020. She was last seen at Cape Coral’s Four Freedoms Park.

The last 18 months have been a rollercoaster for her father Paul Dumolo.

He said he is grateful for the mailers.

I am going to post this because Lauren's case does not get a lot of coverage, nothing like some others. This guy is pretty good and there are some things in it I'm not sure I knew.... I feel for Lauren's dad who has been at this and wanting help for a long time and attention on the case.

I can't quite get over they never said those remains were Lauren's but they sure made it sound as if they thought they very well may be... There are some other odd things in the case... Anyhow, it's worth a watch and she has been missing long past a year and we have only three pages here on this one because this case gets so little news nor any developments imo.

About 9 minutes into this is her dad asking a few really good questions about the body that was found and how things don't add up or make sense... Worth listening to...
