LIBBY GERMAN & ABBY WILLIAMS: Indiana vs. Richard Allen for 2017 murder of two Delphi girls *GUILTY*

On February 14, 2017, the bodies of Abigail Williams and Liberty German were discovered near the Monon High Bridge Trail, which is part of the Delphi Historic Trails in Delphi, Indiana, United States, after the young girls had disappeared from the same trail the previous day. The murders have received significant media coverage because a photo and audio recording of an individual believed to be the girls' murderer was found on German's smartphone. Despite the audio and video recordings of the suspect that have been circulated and the more than 26,000 tips that police have received, no arrest in the case has been made.[1][2][3]

Police have not publicly stated nor released details of how the girls were murdered.[6] As early as February 15, 2017, Indiana State Police began circulating a still image of an individual reportedly seen on the Monon High Bridge Trail near where the two friends were slain; the grainy photograph appearing to capture a Caucasian male, with hands in pockets, walking on the rail bridge, head down, toward the girls.[4] A few days later, the person in the photograph was named the prime suspect in the double-homicide.[5]

On February 22, law enforcement released an audio recording where the voice of the assailant,[7] though in some degree muffled, is heard to say, "Down the hill." It was at this news conference that officials credited the source of the audio and imagery to German's smartphone, and, further, regarded her as a hero for having had the uncanny foresight and fortitude to record the exchange in secret. Police indicated that additional evidence from the phone had been secured, but that they did not release it so as not to "compromise any future trial." By this time, the reward offered in the case was set at $41,000.[5]

Yes, if I recall didn't Libby's father ask him if he had seen the girls and the guy said no so Libby's father went the other way looking for them?
Yeah, as I recall, the man said he hadn't seen the girls but that there were two people under the bridge and so the father took the path off the main trail down to that area. It wasn't told if he'd spoke to the two people or whether he'd even seen the two people but his story went on that he then headed to the Freedom Bridge and passed that same man.
(This info was told by Libby's grandmother to Gray Hughes.)

@KaitlynReports
·Carroll County Prosecutor Nicholas McLeland said they have a good reason to believe Allen did not act alone, that there are other actors.
(Could there be another voice on that tape? Surely they would have released it if there was, right?)
I would think so!
Although I can't imagine what it is, I think there must be some other reason they think that.

I think it might be Kline or Ron Logan set up the meeting online with Allen. I think there's definitely not another voice on that tape, or they would have said so. The second person (possibly third?) could've been silent while just pointing a gun or something.
I think the others are possibly KK and his father. It has already been stated that KK or somebody using their fake profile contacted the girls the night before they went to the bridge. If it was RL then I see no reason to seal as he is dead.

I think the pic of RA getting into the custody van looks very like BG looking down at the rail trestle in Libby's video. See below extracts.

The Carroll County Prosecutor’s Office appreciates the Judge hearing our arguments yesterday morning and looks forward to her ruling. As I stated in court yesterday, we strongly believe the evidence shows Richard Allen was involved in the murder of Libby and Abby. Because the investigation is ongoing and given the intense public interest in the case, we think it would be best if the documents remain sealed. Regardless of the ruling, we believe we have a very solid case against Mr. Allen and look forward to making our argument in trial.
The statement says Carroll County Prosecutor Nick McLeland believes Allen “was involved” in the twin murders of Abigail “Abby” Williams, 13, and her friend Liberty “Libby” German, 14, and that roughly tracks with the felony-murder-style legal theory enshrined in the specific subsection of Indiana law under which Allen is charged.

Allen, under Indiana Code § 35-42-1-1(2), is accused of killing “another human being while committing or attempting to commit” another crime or crimes, including “arson, burglary, child molesting . . . kidnapping, rape, robbery, human trafficking, promotion of human labor trafficking, promotion of human sexual trafficking, promotion of child sexual trafficking, promotion of sexual trafficking of a younger child,” or “child sexual trafficking.”

As Law&Crime noted in a previous report that unpacks the charges against Allen, it is unclear from the docket precisely which underlying offense or offenses is alleged in the Delphi case — but the list of possibilities contained within the statute is harrowing.

Sealed records are not rare, but it is rare to keep an accusatory instrument fully sealed after an arrest.

Prosecutors suggested that others might have been involved in the crime when positing rationale for keeping the file closed during a Tuesday hearing.

Andrew J. Baldwin, a defense attorney for Allen, called the charging document “flimsy” while speaking to reporters after a hearing to ascertain whether or not the document should remain secret. A judge will issue a decision on that issue at a later date.

Baldwin said he and his co-counsel Brad Rozzi were “not impressed” with the way the affidavit attempts to tie his client to the double murder.

“It may be weird for defense lawyers, I suppose, to be arguing that we want things unsealed, but that’s how confident we are in our client,” Baldwin also said. “That’s how confident we are that the evidence contained, at least what’s written in the probable cause affidavit, is nothing for us to worry about. We don’t know what other evidence is out there, but we’re confident that whatever is out there is not going to be enough to show that our client did anything here.”

Baldwin said Allen is “confused” and “bewildered” about why he’s being charged and has told his attorneys that he’s innocent.

I know it is defense atty talk but I don't like the words flimsy and more and I HOPE they have more than just, for instance, a statement from Kline or something. I hope they have a lot more corroborating even if circumstantial.

The last sentence however of Allen being confused and bewildered angers me in how pathetic that is. He clearly has NO ironclad alibi He clearlky got tied in SOMEHOW. So I seriously doubt he is bewildered as to why they think he is part of this. I mean duh if his defense attorneys think that is a believable statement or if Allen thinks bewilderment is going to fly or confusion.

They ideally never put their entire case and evidence into an AA and I count on the fact they didn't. Or it is just smoke and mirrors by the defense.

Allen can't complain I guess about his free attorneys thus far as they are taking up his cause. Disgusting.

Two more media reports about the court appearance of RA last week. The DM has a video of him going from the police van into the court. He looks really short. It confirms that KK's home in Peru was searched on the 14th Feb 2017 and he has been in custody since then.

KK has been in custody since 2017?

I'm just saying no good lawyer apparently offered anything pro bono to Maxwell. Even with assets, they can take a case on just for the sheer publicity if it is high profile or big news I think.
I agree it happens. When there is a big case involving a woman, Gloria Alredd will show up alot. And a few don't have money. But if they have her and you're the target. Run. Fast.

This plea deal crap now. Kline is an ugly troll pedophile. He deserves no deals. None of them do. But I see it all the time.
We can only hope they did not give him too sweet of a deal and there is still enough remaining for charges for him to be put away for life.

Assuming of course he is part of this arrest.

This is what it says in the article, below the Peru map.

Map showing Peru, Indiana and Delphi, Indiana in the Delphi murder case as Indiana police link pedophile Kline who was jailed TEN DAYS after girls vanished in 2017 on separate child porn charges to a catfish Instagram account that the girls were talking to
I knew he was on their radar back then and talked to but i'm not sure I knew he was jailed from that point on... I thought there was criticism over the fact he wasn't for so long.

I don't know. This case has went on so long, I can't retain all of the info any longer I guess. :(

AFAIK nobody knew this was connected to Libby and Abby at the time it happened. I do remember a search happening in Canal Street, Peru at the time but many searches and sex offenders were being checked out also. LE also said something like "watch what your children are up to" so this has clearly been known about for some time. If it is a paedophile ring that they have been working on all this time, then that could explain the secrecy and the length of time it has taken. With the sealing of the probable cause re the arrest of RA they are still holding info back and seem to be indicating others are implicated. Why did the first judge stand down? Something doesn't sit right somehow - maybe LE have not yet got everybody they want.

That first judge standing down and acting as he did was downright odd. Even if a judge was scared for himself or family, to say so publicly just isn't something one sees.

I can't help but wonder if this is all "lowlife" types in this alleged ring. I mean all peds are lowlifes, don't get me wrong, but I mean is anyone of import in the area in this ring? Look at the Maxwell case, big money and prestigious people they knew who indulged in the forbidden. Entirely different cases of course but just like in the past when they arrest a bunch of johns in a prostitution sting, etc., often one finds people of import doing such things.

You'd have to as LE keep it under wraps and likely to a select group of investigators to investigate for instance one of your own, or someone of import in the area or town.

Just speculating and as you said something just doesn't feel or sit right...

What I do know that I feel lends to such thoughts and doubts is secrecy. When cases contain secrecy and sealed documents or you wonder why someone right under their nose was not on their radar all these years in this case who was AT the bridge, such doubts develop in the public naturally when no info is given. LE holds information always based on the integrity of the investigation and lately I think many do it even more often so the public can't run wild with speculation but I think NO information backfires and FUELS speculation.

In most cases, I'd think thoughts of a ring would be farfetched but in this one, I don't and in this one, it was LE who basically said there is one, a BIG one....

When they intimated recently there is another or others involved with RA, I hope this is FACT and not a ploy to keep things sealed because if not true, then it is wrong and using a falsehood to keep things under wraps.
